high milage coupes are fine as long as they have been well serviced and maintained, have a browse on the coupes for sale section on here for a forum owned one. And a few things to give a check over before buying oil cooler cambelt clutch Am sure there will be more peeps soon to give more advise

coupes are great and are tremendous fun, so good luck in your search - you might also want to chat to the specialists on here who sell cars like Countrycruising (Joe) and Motormech (Paul) and see what they have available. might be a bit more than autotrader/pissedonheads but at least they'll be sorted properly. also, i strongly suggest you read the buyers guide found on this site, it is an invaluable guide welcome to the forum too

Golden Rules:
Check out the excellent buyers guide on here
Never go on mileage - go on condition & history (preferably coupe specialist)
Buy from a Forum member, or take a well clued up member with you to the viewing, better still, before you buy see if you can arrange an inspection by one of the coupe specialists around the UK, as stated above Paul @ Motormech or Joe @ Country cruising
Get some Insurance quotes before you buy!! esp if you are considering a 20VT
£2000 should get you a sound, mechanically tidy 20VT with no 'major' jobs impending, expect a few cosmetic issues/niggles etc & maybe some minor general maintenance

I had an Ink Black 20vt with 150000 miles on it. Held 2.75 bar oil pressure at hot idle on the hottest day of the year after ragging it into the floor.... definitely buy on how well it has been looked after.
At 2K I'd expect a sub 100K mile 20vt, probably on a 98 plate or newer.
And should be reasonably tidy outside and inside, and no major jobs needed anytime soon on the engine. Try and check age of clutch, time & miles since cambelt change, time since aux belt change and miles turbo has done (or check for smokey blue exhaust.
