Long rope through drivers and passenger windows?? Not sure whether the A-pillars are really strong enough for that if the snow is deep and it really will be being pulled "through" the snow, rather than "over" it....

I am sure Joe / Rog could point out some strategic points in the engine bay that are string enough to be tied too and hauled out that way... mind the body work though shocked

Just suggested that and isnt there the famous metal tow loop that always gets bent under the car? I suggested maybe getting some rope around that

Front wishbone is probably the best bet. Problem will be that it will want to lift the bumper.

Thats why you may be better towing from above, if possible?

Rope around rear suspension frame (the tubular part) ?
In reverse just for few yards....if possible.

Good to hear they are ok now! Impressive how everyone's willing to help, really great to read.

It's kinda odd to hear that the tow hook is missing though. I've used it at Spa and have put it back into the toolkit. Perhaps it fell out and is under/next to the spare wheel?

yes - shipping hook would be my first call - doesn't really matter if it gets bent, and its not going to take a lot of force anyway

agree with Nigel, the shipping hook is the best bet to get it moving.

depending how strong the rope is, you could try the sub frame..

offer is still open if we are needed later!

well, jsut spoken to KJ and pete.

Now this is the problem at hand.

they do not have the towing eye to put on, the one pete has is to small to fit the coupe.

ive advised them where to tie a rope to ( random hook, wish bones, sub frame ect)

BUT...

they have hills on both sides of them.

me and mario may still be going down to carry out an amiego rescue!!

but we will know with in the hour!

seriously, be careful IF you do attempt this - we're now talking just rescuing the car, and i'm not convinced ANY car is worth risking the purple jumpers your health for laugh

Why are they trying to move the car?

I would simply move it out of the way as much as possible, make sure it has a marker on it (to stop snow ploughs hitting it) and then retire to the pub for a couple of days

Marco / Mario - whilst I admire your willingness to help, I reckon if you set off now, you might be there by this time tomorrow. NOTHING is moving very far down there and all that will happen is that there will be half a dozen people camping out in the pub, rather than three (or four if PeteP doesn't go home soon)

Lmfao!!!

Mate, to klaas I'm sure there are more aspects to it.

His family possession and other stuff.

But end if the day me and Mario are only doing this if KJ gives us the go-ahead.

I trust him, he would not put us in any danger.
How much snow is there??

Yeh not actually sure why they need the car moved, I can only assume Klaas wants to attempt to get back home tomorrow?

It does seem that the sensible thing would be to hold tight. Im not entirely sure that they have a place to stay for the night though? He mentioned in one of his texts that they still needed to find a place to sleep

not sure why they are moving it Nigel..

also, with out sounding stupid (Which is hard for me) if pete managed to get there in his punto, there must be hope of getting him and the car away.

as i said we are only going to go to them if KJ wants us to and needs us there.

Surely the pub landlady will know of the nearest B&B?

Alternatively, we need to access the Coupe club member's database and see who is closest and start making some calls

that would be a great idea..

also, if we or any one can get him and family a place to stay for the night then im guessing PeteP can bring him to that location.

Nigel, any thing more i can do to help mate please let me know!

i do nothing all day so i can happily sit and make calls till 5pm.
