Thinking adding something like this so i can choose different coilover springs for the rear!
Will it work?

the spring & damper are totally separate, HOWEVER I do believe that FK or whatever it's called do an adjustable alu' spring seat cup.

Not really worth it, as even boggo lowered springs end up bottoming out sometimes on the bump stop ( which always needs a good 25mm chopping off ).

My car has the gaz coilovers so its at std ride height,i dont want them to lower the car.
i just want them so i can swap to 2.25"spring meaning i can change rates around as the gaz kit has a std style spring.
also i can corner weight then.

I'm not sure a threaded section on the damper or even a threaded damper in the same position would be able to take the forces on it, espicailly the single shear bolt on the arm. But you can get kits for the job I have one on my tipo from AST, heres a really old pic -

FK do a OE style one and I have seen similar kits ofr other cars with seperate damper sping config,

The FK is quite different to that, Rich's spring looks like a 60mm diameter and is bolted to the the top spring mount. The FK uses a standard diameter spring which mounts over that top spring mount.

I much prefer Rich's setup as you can swap springs around easily where the FK is limited to one spring rate.

FK rear setup

can you see the difference in spring shape? (larger diameter at top, and progressive coils) FK's are height adjustable but dont do different rates for their rear springs, and SR's spring shape would not fit.

Surely when the weight is on that it's just riding on the bump stop against that spring seat?

ok,I walked into the sarcastic link rolleyes
Whats the chances of AST selling me the adjusting platform seperate? Is it of a 155 kit or something?
I was thinking of using the demon tweeks kit the same way, bolting the cap were the top rubber seat normally is and using a 2.25"spring over the tube to the rubber mount on the lower swing arm.
does any see any problems with it?

Ask AST and find out, they were sold seperately by Madeno who sold them to me!

Erm you idea, how are you going to mount the threaded section? Its a hollow tube and cap is for the top mount end of the strut or far end of a damper. You would need to weld a flat section to the end of the tube with a 12mm hole in it then you can mount it like the AST ones, probably cheaper too.
