If I find a Coupe and can't get a forum member to check it out for me, would an inspection from a standard inspection company like VCS be sufficient?

Hi there - Welcome to the forum

I wouldn't rely on a standard inspection. Need to have specialist knowledge really, and the coop's quite rare so you're unlikely to get someone doing the inspection who knows about them. If you want an independent inspection then try calling a recognised coop specialist in your area to see if they can do one.

You have come to the right place though - try and buy from a member on here, or, failing that, spend some time reading on here, getting to know the coop inside out, then do your own inspection.

I tried to do the latter - and seem to have bought a decent one (touch wood )

Good luck with it

Neal

Thank you very much for that guys. I'm based in London but am quite willing to travel a bit to find the right car. So I'll let you know when I've found one that needs looking over!

Rogero, hi and welcome to the Forum

This thread will give you an idea as to peoples whereabouts who are willing to help look at coupes.

Good luck with your search

Also if your car is near enough to a Coupe specialist (the list is under General Maintainence I think) see if they'll do an inspection for you. I know that L&M in Wycombe and Auto Integrale in Reading do this for a few quid and I'm sure the other main specialists might offer a similar service.
