Hi all!!

Im currently in the market for a new car, and i have ALWAYS wanted to have a nice sexy Fiat Coupe and i think now is the time...

Im only 23 but i can insure one without problems thank god!

But i only have 2k maybe 3k to spend on one...
Is this too little for a fairly decent well kept one?

i dont mind doing some work on it as i use to own a Rover 25 and we all know how reliable them things can be haha

Anyway, im really excited to get looking and viewing some and seeing if i can find then rite one smile

If anyone knows of any for sale near Manchester/uk let me know heh :-p

if you spend 2k i know one in cumbria that is mint perfect. 16vt but has just about everything brand new.
oh its got the zender kit and is Rosso Red.
one word is buy off here only... im learning that now and its my 3rd i have just bought and need a new turbo...
Also there is a Steel grey one on here think its 2500 and again looks n sounds very good!
oh and one at 2800 just advertised.
if you look through the forums there will be plenty of advice on cons and stuff to look for usually the expensive things.
I.e
oil cooler pipes,
Turbo
Cambelt
Clutch
Oil pressure
One with compression test on cylinders.
these are all something with 2k spent should of been done or there bouts.
PErsonally id say a higher mileage one is the better option.
as most perishibles will have been replaced.

haha i have heard about it being FAR better buying off here, and tbh i know exactly what you mean as i have had some bad cars from people who did not treat them with respect...

But can never beat a car owned by an enthusiast :-)

and thanks mate! ill definatly be keeping an eye our for a decent well kept Coupe, would prefer a 20VT, with Full history!

Hi and welcome to the forum......I would put myself down as not so much an enthusiast but 'enthusiastic' (if there's a difference!)
Anyway, it may be prudent to by a coupe off a forum member and i would agree with that in general but once you have navigated around this great site, you will soon realise that many of us on here are also trying to navigate around many of the problems that develop on these coupes !!!!!

I am a case in point, i have a superb 20 VT in sprint blue, with full history, which ought to be around £2K...But the turbo is on the way out and im struggling to sell it for half that!!....i think the point i am getting at, is due to the nature of the beast, a £3,000+ car can be just as temperamental as one going for a bargain price!

Read the buyers guides, take along some common sense and keep your fingers crossed,

Good luck.
