After some substantial lurking i thought i'd give a wee update on my lurking status.

I have enough cars to keep me busy but the coupe has always interested me ever since i had a lancia thema turbo.

so after much reading and pondering i have a couple of views lined up, i have read the buyers guide and i have checked insurance.... this is where it was interesting...

i have an old banger, a clio diesel which i pretty much abuse. it is nearly 15 years old and a workhorse. i am 38 and 10+ years ncb. i got a renewal quote today as it is due on 24th, insurance = £297 tpf&t. not impressed as it is an increase of over 25% on last year.

so whilst i am on the phone i enquire about a couple. well im impressed, £340 fully comp. blimey.

so i asked why. why should a crappy car cost so much and an expensive car (by comparison) that costs loads to repair, and has such performance cost so little (relatively speaking).

well apparently its because of 'specialist policies'.

i'll be damned that there isnt a crappy clio diesel car club!

so in summary i was pleasantly surprised at the coupe quote!

It might be the TPF+T? Always comes in higher than comp for me for some bizarre reason (I am in the same age band as you).
