I have just purchased one of these. Has anyone got any fitting tips, whilst I've not received yet, it does not look as straight forward in fitting as the usual models of dump valve!

Any help would, of course, be appreciated smile

You'll need one of those and some silicone to suit and then it's exactly the same as any other valve AFAIK

It's the only dump valve I'd EVER run on a Coupe! I'm not running one at all at the moment and the chatter is awesome!

For all the SSQV chaps...

So I've received the above and a flange, but it states "Cut a hole in the intercooling pipework and weld the flange onto this"

My questions are...
- Where is the correct place for fitment (where have other placed it)
- How the hell do you weld the flange on and is this really necessary?

??????

The flange is for welding to cars with a hardpipe. For the coupe, you would need a Universal fitting that attaches to the SSQV and plugs into the same place you would put the standard unit to. Because this universal adaptor is 34mm, you will also need a silicone reducing hose that takes it from 34mm to 25mm (If i recall correctly?)

If you want to make the SSQV a recirculating device, then another adaptor is needed! These come in 2 different sizes. 19mm and 29mm. I got the 19mm one..and yet another reducing connection (in this case, expanding it from 19mm to 25mm) has to be made up for it to link to the coupe's existing pipes.

All in all, it works out to be quite an expensive system!

It sure does, all to prevent boost loss (not really, the noise!). I have the 34mm flange so I'll just need the reducing pipework by the looks of it.

Thanks Kelv

No bother Phil smile

Don't forget that its better to have a 90degree or 45 degree hose too...as its a chunky piece of thing.

I've got a photo of mine at work on my 16vt and the pipe work is fundamentally identical and I had the reducer hose on there.

When I get in tomorrow I'll find it and whack it up.

I bought a 1 inch flange for mine and just used the original mounting point. They are alot better than the bailey dump valves in my opinion as they sound terrible
