wobble Fair enough. So whats the plan, get a 'bog' standard 20VT and modify that? wobble

Sorry, I'm throwing the thread off on a tangent. Could you not put the Plus wheels you have for sale back on the Plus? Just thinking that might make it a bit more appealing to purists?

Phill you are a sick man!

I think there must be something in the water.

I have an idea for two projects that you won't get bored of or complete in a hurry:

1) Lengthen the wheelbase, widen the car (cut down the middle) fit the engine to the rear and voila
you'll have the car Fiat should have made cool

2) Cut of the roof and have the first convertable?

I think I'd like something that has around 350-400 bhp to start and goes around corners like it's on rails.

PS - Joe at FCSS is going to [censored] kill me! He's spent so much time on this car - whoops! Sorry Joe frown

Phil,

Why do you not just tune this one?

Your going to loose more money than you make selling this, then doing all this work probably again to another coupe and then tuning it.

Chuck another 1.5k at yours with a few good finds you could be well on your way to silly power.....

I just think your going to be spending less money this way with a car you like and have done the paint work on

Sam - She needs to go, I just can't do it to her. Anyway, I love new projects as I am treating all this as a learning experience. Take my Steely that I did, she was great, then I enjoyed the Plus more, now it's time to use these experiences with a new project that'll keep me amused ....

I do think you need to put the plus wheels back on.

I know you like the dark 20vt wheels but if your selling it as a genuine plus it should have all its standard bits, and to some the wheels are one of the most important things..

but good luck with the sale, if I had the money i'd buy it..

Patch how about you take every forum member's car off their hands and give it the full Patch treatment? That should keep you busy for...the next 6 months? laugh

Or how about you just make a Fiat Coupe from scratch? That would keep you busy for 7 months. laugh

No but seriously WHY are you selling your perfect Plus?!?!?

Hmmm chinny

"Possession of an illegally spaced vehicle registration mark with intent to supply".......

Several options:

a). Pay me the fine, that'll be £4300 please

b). Give me the car and I'll turn a blind eye

See, who says the law can't be fair? laugh

Blummin heck Patch! You've got itchier feet than Sam when it comes to Coupe's!! tongue

I saw this car in the flesh last week and it looks awesome! Yea, there's a few small bits of paintwork that could do with being fixed, but other than that this car is a beauty! The engine bay is love

You nutter Phil laugh

Personally, I'd sort the paintwork issues and play with this one: suspension, tyres, a track day or two. Spa. There's still plenty you can do.

You might not like a silly power coupe. In my personal opinion, a mapped 300bhp hybrid coupe with FMIC is the right amount of power. Beyond that it gets a lot more pricey and risky.

Serious power modding can be very expensive and very frustrating: just be 100% sure you want to go this route before you let this great car go mate.

Phil what are you like rolleyes

I go away for one weekend and come back to find you planning and scheming laugh

Who ever buys this will be one lucky person as it's a really well sorted coupé that's had quiet a large sum spent on it recently, and that's not to mention mapping, charge cooler ect.

Looking forward to listening to what you've got planned cool

Cheers Yella, This is now a sorted Plus. I have achieved my goals and enjoyed doing it. I think this one needs to be kept as she is - yes, that includes the wheels laugh I hear what you are saying mate, I really do, Joe said exactly the same thing to me wink

Agree with the comments about the wheels. Do what I did with my Plus, get some Plus alloys and spray them anthracite. Would look fantastic on yours.

I now have decided on the next project ..... It will look exactly the same as this ... (the coupe gents, the coupe)

I mean EXACTLY the same using the Italian designed bumper, the same wheels (though I need to find out what they are called and a source) and will run a safe 350bhp.

Come on, someone buy my car, please, she's a cracker!!!

Patch when do you reckon your next Coupe project will be completed by, assuming you find a suitable silver Coupe in a month or so?

Patch, how about you get a Vinci Grey and mod that?

Best colour Coupe + best bumper/skirts/wheels combination + the Patch234 treatment = best looking Coupe EVER in the universe! love

Because you've never done the Patch treatment on an LE have you?

I'll be detailing a Vinci LE next weekend. I'll picture post the results (Before and after)

Nice idea JKD, but the purchase price on a vinci will eat into the budget.

Yes, it seems that the market for well sorted, tastefully and sympathetically modified cars that require no work, are powerful, stealthy looking, sorted, looked after, reliable and well priced (considering a normal PLUS will fetch £3-£3.5K) has dissipated into fresh air laugh

You can do the same patch and we'll swap cars for a few days to spread the word a bit further laugh

What issue of Autocar was this car in?

Was it for one of their RWYB type events?

I like originality, but the plus wheels do nothing for me. The Coupe is one of those designs that works as it was made and IMO the plus wheels are too fussy.

Patch's car has standard 20VT wheels which are mint and have a wicked sparkle effect that when seen in the flesh make them really pop...........couldnt stop staring at them at brooklands..........unless he isnt selling these with the car and is putting his plus wheels back on?

I am going to put my private plate on retention and I am thinking of breaking my one or else keeping it off the road for a year. The market for decent 20vt's seems to have evaporated.

Phil - looking at your sig pic I think that the earlier looking 'P' plate that's on it now won't be helping you at all.
I'd change that back before sale: trying to sort this after sale takes ages/ causes complications with sorting the V5 etc etc.

All the best anyway smile

Phil, That's just a silly price mate, I know you want to get on with another project but the car originally must of cost at least 3.5k

You have spent surly 2k + on this?

Cant you just take up heroin, Im sure it will be cheaper in the long run!

I could make more breaking her mate, but this one isn't going end up that way. The new owner will need to give me guarantee's about that.

Selling at a loss, sure, but that's part and parcel of car selling these days.
