Difficult to believe a seller could get that wrong, really. I mean, come on....?
Bit lumpy, too, IMO.

The guy might just be stating that it's a Limited Edition version NOT an LE per se he may not even know that there is a LE version, but he knows it was made in limited numbers .... on the other hand, he could be a numpty

You boys.... has FULL SERVICE HISTORY. AIRBAG RECAROS and RECENT CAMBELT CHANGE AND SERVICE. So what its done 128k. Its worth something very close if not a little over 4k. You can stick your rancid standard 20vt with missing service history but [cough] genuine 55k engine [cough] read the advert at least.
128,000 miles, 2000 W reg: 128,000 miles, This is the rarest and best version, with 6 speed gearbox, 220 bhp, very fast, yet 36 mpg on a long run. Limited slip differential, ABS, front and side airbags, full leather, grey metallic. Taxed and MOT till September 2010. Complete service history; new cambelt and full service at 124,000 miles. bodywork and interior in lovely condition. I have enjoyed this car since 2003, but now at 65, need a Honda Civic! £4,250. 01297 23890. £4,250.

who is that aimed at ? What is your problem.....this is a forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion......without using words like "rancid" PS.......soon as I got to the 128000 miles part.....I went and watched paint dry. I think the car is probably ok.....but I would not pay that for it.....end of.

There's really two trains of thought when it comes to LE's and Plus models which I notice runs over into 16v models. And it goes a little like this: Classic Car Mag Marks Coop as Future Classic. Some get excited about it, and some think, 'big deal, they also include articles on Austin Alegros. And who can forget the excitement of the Vanden Plas owners Some LE owners assume the limited edition, having a distasteful interior, push button start and six speed gearbox means they are now worth twice the price of a standard 20vt. Others think not now and probably not ever. Personally I think the Plus is more desirable than an LE, but even then like for like neither is worth anything like twice the price of a standard 20vt and probably never will be. Sure they have a small premium over the standard...a few hundred quid maybe, and in twenty years time, like for like (depending on the market) they probably still wont fetch more than 15 to 20% more than the standard. Thats my opinion an so again IMO that car is over priced

Paul, its aimed at everyone with a rancid dented molested clocked coupes Its a late model plus in a desirable colour with what might be a full service history and one of the important jobs done recently. looking at it a clean straight car. Not everyone likes a plus, not everyone likes an LE. I have had all three (Standard, LE and Plus) and I know which one is by the best and most enjoyable to own. And it isn't the standard one. Airbag recaros are a cut above the normal ones, more supportive and just better. When a 123k red plus without airbags and service history goes for £1750 on fleabay that needs at least 2k worth of work you begin to see that the above is a fair price.

Thinking of my own car. Nov 98, 75K spotless interior (more or less) recent belts, FSH, new rear discs etc etc all mots, extensive documentation and receipts. Faultless oil pressure, and faultless oil consumption.
If I were to sell it now I'd say £1k to £1.5k. If it hadn't had the paintwork ruined and been deliberately scored I'd add a grand to that. If I got it professionally resprayed I'd add another grand and realistically be looking somewhere between £2500 to £3000.
I'd be hard pushed to buy an LE, but if an equivalent plus came up I'd be looking £3000 - £3500, so again (and purely only from my perspective) that car is about a grand over its worth.

Now in the 400+ bhp club!

Ok....I can scan all my documents if you like....cambelt change 5000 miles ago......serviced 4 months ago plus the rest. I bought a straight Y reg coop....built in 2000 and registered in 2001 (info compliments of the DVLA from the VIN and reg) with 56000 miles on the clock with documentation to prove. The engine has never been touched (lots of work for me I know) and flea had it a few weeks ago....ask him if you like. That cost me all of £2000 for a mint 20vt....one of the last cars made. Now you tell me how that other car is worth over £4000 ? Coupes are not worth much these days.....unfortunately that is a fact. paul

No doubt it will sell and it is all down to demand and supply. I only made a comment that I did not think it was worth that much......that's all

spit for starters it depends where you are... coupés in London for example will be a bit more expensive than coupés in Cardiff. Secondly it appears you got a very good coupé for a low price... well done But that does not mean that every coupé should follow that price place...

fair comment mate, buyers market and all that - there are coops on here being bandied about at £6k that'd sell if left for sale long enough, its all about supply and demand as you say

I travelled to London to get my first coop and to Cumbria to get this one. What possible diffence does it make where the coop is,unless buying form a garage of course.....not as if many of us buy local cars or from garages anyway....is it ? paul

I'm one hundred percent behind you on this one spit. And even when I was talking about my own car, I was relying on the fact there's not a huge choice over here. Though as some have mentioned, East Belfast does seem to becoming a bit of a hot spot for coops. Obviously I put that down to the fact the yocals have seen me in mine and thought...I could look half as good as him if only I had one of those cars! They cant but sure I also agree with the others to some extent. As Barnum says there's one born every minute and in the past I've been that one. There's many on here (you can tell by the money they put into their coops) who can afford not to sell. And there's people out there who have enough money to pay it. And all it takes is one of the latter to take a real shine to the formers car. And apart from the mileage of said car, it is pitched at a price that just might get a bite, if and I mean IF it's mint and the only thing showing its age is the odometer.

To be fair this looks like a pretty genuine car. The bloke has owned it since 2003, states it has a full service history and is in good nick. Isn't this the same forum that was telling Duncan his mooner is worth at least 5k? I bet if this guy was on the forum everyone would be patting him on the back telling him how nice his coupe is and that it's worth the asking price all day long. There will always be a demand for the Plus. Particularly in this colour with those seats. This car will sell for 4 grand unless it's a total shed. Fact.

Paul, you were very lucky and got a great deal, if you hung out for the right buyer in the right area you could get 3k - 3.5k for your car. You were lucky and if the history is genuine and the car is straight you bought well.
I agree mate....no bones about that.....I am very happy about it. I honestly was just giving my opinion about the earlier ad mate......that's all. Last thing I want to do is fall out with anyone over anything on this forum. Paul
