Hi all,

Considering getting a Fiat Coupe 20v turbo but have a few questions first.

I'm going to be using the car for a daily drive of about 8 miles (round trip) to the train station during the week and also for the occasional track day.

I've seen this car (http://www.fiatcoupeclub.org/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=891710#Post891710) advertised on here which looks good and is also standard. I know it's coming up for a cambelt change and this isn't a problem as I don't mind paying for this. I have no issues with the running costs of these cars but just wanted to know if it will be reliable enough for all my needs or should I look for something else?

Cheers

Yup they are fine as a daily car if looked after. Just check the oil and fluids weekly and service regularly/do preventative maintainance . In your case, with such a short commute, you'll not get the oil up to temp long before you reach your destination, so I'd stay off the boost! Save the spirited drives for the evenings/weekends!

I use mine as my daily runner and do a 34 mile round commute plus normal day to day driving, about 15,000 miles per year. Apart from an engine failure which was not my fault or the cars fault (damaged by a third party) the car's only needed normal wear and tear items replaced, just like any other car.

Go for it!
