I have a bit of a hankering for a convertible for the summer and am toying with this idea. But having just spent a shed load of money on it, will not let it go for silly money and may not even sell it, but what do people think it may be worth? The car: P reg - private "coupe" plate staying on the car. 66k miles Sprint blue, excellent bodywork LE skirts All alloys refurbed and perfect, plus 4 good Eagle F1's Plus grill The inside: Black leather Front Recaros Silver console Momo gear knob All chrome bits and rings Sony MP3 player The engine: Superspool hybrid (2 months old) 3" full blueflame system Evo FMIC Ramair induction kit Sparco Strut brace Walbro fuel pump Polished rocker cover Red dot disc all round Greddy boost controller Unichipped over gtech 1 - has been mapped at 275, since then had new turbo, Gtech II, pump, etc, booked for a remap in next month, should be closer to 300. Servicing: Belts changed Clutch changed last year Clutch slave cylinder changed last year. New oil cooler and pipes last year New Injectors last year New wishbones last year New radiator last year FSH (last service at PowerFiat) TAX till June 07 MOT till Feb 07 In 6 months of owning this, it has been faultless and is a very clean example of a well modded coupe. Roger at Powerfiat knows the car and I am sure he would speak for it. This is not a definite sale, but if the right money came along. So whats it worth and does anyone want it Pic

Your car should probably be priced similar to later models with average mileage and maybe even some highish mileage plus models due to the impressive spec and maintainance.
Hard one to call but id say about £5600/£5800 but i may be way out???

Ah, it's OK, I would have come clean and told the WHOLE truth anyway!
Nasty, nasty spoiler, it was, I think I might even have a picture of it (on your car) somewhere!

I still reckon you'll be lucky to get any more than £3250 for it. It's old, it's modified, not a good combination for potential buyers

All coops are old, yours is 6 or 7 years old
As for being modified I agree not everyones cup of tea (namely yours ) but some potential buyers look for modded cars. Not everyone wants a slow boring 220 std car

True, but a lot of people want one that they can modify themselves, where they know what is being done/has been done/how it's been done. And 6 years old is still newer than 9 or 10 Anyway, you asked for opinions, I gave you mine, you don't have to agree with it

As you say Jim there are people prepared to buy a modded car, but not as many as those wanting umolested examples, and this one is as good as they get. That does not nesessarily mean you will have to accept silly money, but you may have to wait quite a while for the right buyer. Trouble is that most people get their kicks from the whole modding process and not the end result, as your decision testifies I'll swap wheels for a donation to the Hairdressers benevolant fund John

I'm with Pinin & Scooby, 3-4K is all you'll get I think. There are lots of people selling at the moment and they don't seem to be shifting that fast. I think you'd be better off keeping it (friends garage?) and buying a soft top. How about this beauty? Very rare, I wonder why.

Why whats wrong with mine
I know what you mean, but there is modded by dropping a chip and upping the boost and there is modded by doing it properly - its the latter that are rarer. But I am in no major rush to sell, just fancy the idea of a convertible, but maybe not that one

I don't think there is a problem with selling coupes that are heavily modded. Recently we've seen Arthur and Bens (ex-Fishy Daves) go via the Forum and prior to that Hannys and Jimbos went as well. People do want modded coupes, usually someone on here who's got a standard one but would like to have one thats been tweaked. And I don't buy into this 'doing the mods yourself is part of the fun' idea. Buying a modded coupe that has been run in that set up for some time appeals to me more than doing it myself. My 2p's worth

Nice hat Jim, but i think i can hear something buzzing under there. I bought my car slightly modified, with the intention of not modifying it much myself. That idea lasted all of about 2 months . If i was to be looking for a coupe, i'd definately consider yours Jim, when you take into account the cost of reaching this level of modifications( ). On that note, i'm willing to double what i offered you previously.
