Hi mates,
As you may know, im one of few here who lives in the Middle East and im suffering from the lake of expertise & live mapping services. I have almost all the required modifications to be on the 300hp mark but unfortunately, without proper mapping, I could only achieve the following figures with 1.2bar:
- Power: 271.7hp at 6800rpm
- Torque: 195Lb.ft at 5600rpm

With the following mods:
GT28R Turbo
H&S DP
PA FMIC
PA SIP with Apexi cone filter
SuperSprint De-cat & Cat back sys.
PRV
Gtech1 HF
Walbro 255 with wiring mod
HKS SSQ BOV
7ET NGK Spark Plugs

In addition to that, I have few problems with my torque, spool up & fueling and I have added Gtech 2 HF later on. For those who don’t know my story, have alook on this link

Due to that, I have discussed with flea (FCperformance) to use one of his mapping stages and we have agreed that we could use the “trial and error” method until we get the correct map. Top chap flea (with thanks) will help me to do re-mapping and will give me recommendations until we get it right. In the beginning I will try to use stage 3 map and then I will do RR to check the results. Although it’s a long distance mapping , but im sure that we could get good results. This method will help a lot of people here who couldn’t get any mapping facilities in their countries.

I will start updating this thread with the results and I hope we could get it right from the first time. My initial graphs: HP vs AFR & Torque Vs AFR

How much power are you hoping for? The GT28R should be good for over 300 HP.

I wish and hope that this "overseas mapping" works fine with you as I am considering "FC Performance" for my chip when my engine is ready.. it will be trial and error path for me as well

I hope you get the maximum power out of your mods with this chip.. and don't forget, I will be attending the RR with you

@Freddan72, well, Flea is aiming to map it at 1.4bar but im not sure if my PRV could handle it. anyway, im hoping for the 300hp mark..

Update!

After fitting the map from FC performance, I have achieved the following:

Power : 297.3 hp @ 6400rpm (power Vs AFR, Torque vs AFR , Boost , old vs new power (wheel) , new vs old Torque )

All car problems as well as the strange torque drop were solved by the map. My target was to hit the 300 mark and we are almost there. The car is running very rich now and we have to fix it. flea is going to tune it a bit for me and will try it again on RR. i know it is better to wash the cylinders, but is it safe to run the car with rich AFR or not? anyway, im very very satisfied with the results .

i have to admit that this was only done by flea efforts! He has taken my old graphs as a base and burn a new map on a plug and play chip (stage 3 map). I have to say that it is an astonishing effort from flea and he has proven that he could do lots of great things, so thank you flea.

So if you dont have mapping facilities, dont worry! FC performance is certainly the answer

Is it 297.3 HP at the wheel?
If so then you are well over 300 HP at the crank

It made 297bhp @ 274lbs/ft at the flywheel, and 245bhp at the wheels.

This is a gain of 26bhp from the previous run but with a much broader torque curve. I'm pretty sure it will see over 300bhp on the next run

Great news omran, when its fueling perfectly you will definatly see over 300hp

when my car was fueling rich at a afr 10.1 my car put out 290bhp. ..

Now fueling at mid elevens where it should be

its put out approx 320bhp at 1.4bar and 340 at 1.5bar


not saying yours is gonna hit them exact firgures may be higher/lower but just thought id say

You will be officially part of 300bhp+ club

I think after a bit tuning of the fueling, you will be above the 300hp for sure

It's also nice to have the steady power curve with no strange drops like the previous one

It seems the overseas mapping is working fine.. so I will be in good shape when my turn comes

hi freddan, i was away for two weeks and im back now for some action ... i have already replaced the old chip with a new one from Flea (thanks mate). i will do RR by today/tomorrow and will let you know the results.

Omran will post his official results and graphs, but the new results are now in

309.3hp (1.6bar - 1.2bar)
305.4hp (1.4bar - 1.0bar)

yup as flea said,,,it made 309 with correct AFR (11.3)

ok after swapping the new chip from flea (thanks!) the following has been achieved.

i made two runs, one with 1.6 bar falls to 1.2 at the red line & the second was made on 1.4 bar falls to 1.1 bar at the red line.

results :
309 hp @ 1.6 bar & 305 @ 1.4

graphs:
1.6 bar:
1. power & boost (old vs new chip)
2. AFR & wheel Torque(old vs new chip)
3. wheel power & AFR (old vs new chip)

1.4bar:
1. power & wheel Torque
2. wheel power Vs AFR

with 11.3 AFR, i believe that the car is running safe now, but i will keep the 1.4 to save my internals...what do you think mates?

So max torque is 240 lb/ft at 5200 rpm?

Max torque is 281 lbs/ft @ 5200rpm (238lbs/ft wheel torque)

Nice! I use 98 octane. I may switch to V-Power before next RR session

I will soon change my clutch and up the boost to 1.5 Bar. Hopefully I see 350 HP
