Hello All!
I'm just back from my exciting first outing to see my very first Fiat Coupe! I have wanted to own one for years and now I'm getting ever closer except...
when putting the car through my first and mandatory test, I found that my electronic keyboard which I rely on, didn't fit as the seats don't go down. So...
DO ANY FIAT COUPE'S HAVE SEATS THAT GO DOWN?
The other event that caused some distress to me novice I am, was the fact that on return from the test drive the car was-in the words of the seller-HUNTING, IE REVVING ON ITS OWN AT IDLE. Once we had turned the engine off and back on, it behaved normally. Oil and water temp seemed mid range or just below that. The seller will take it in for inspection and seems to intend to have it sorted before anybody buys it.
The coupe is a yellow 16v, no turbo, 1996, 81k miles approx, as advertised on eBay.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance,
your FrecciaGialla

seats should tilt forward to allow people to get into the rear seats - if you can get a person in, you should be able to get a keyboard in!

Hunting is probably something like the idle control valve (don't think 16v has an airflow sensor, but someone {barnacle?] will be along soon with a more accurate diagnosis)

Hello Again,
Thanks for your replies. The rear seats in the 16v I'm looking at don't go down so I can't fit my very long keyboard (88 keys! :-)) in longways although I can just about squeeze it in side ways over the rear seats but with the front seat down. Do any later models have folding seats in the rear?
The car is being advertised at around £1500. Also noted it had 4 different brands of budget tyres...

Check the car carefully if the current owner has skimped on the tyres, what else has he cut corners on.
However it may be that he just put cheap tyres on because he is selling it.
£1500 is a lot for a 16V N/A but if it is a very good car then they are the easist of the coupes to maintain and good place to start with coupe ownership.
The coupe won't handle very well on odd tyres so if you do buy it make sure the first thing you do after checking the oil is put a good set of tyres on.

Also think Frary may still be selling his car, and that is a beautiful example check it out.

One of the rear seats fold down. If you look in the boot you can see a hatch. It's not very wide but it might be big enough.
