How busy is Crail? It doesn't get like Santa Pod does it with having to queue for an hour plus to get a run in?

No, it should be pretty quiet on that particular day. Generally speaking it's only busy on days where one of the magazines is there.

Are you thinking of coming then with the monster :D. Have you done a 1/4mile run in your super coupe yet?

Bump...
Anyone got any tips for launching? Also what is better, torque or bhp for 1/4?
Ross 1st of all depends on your power band and how much traction you can put down. Normally want to hold on handbrake and launch off somewhere between 2k and 4k. Will vary from car to car. Technically bhp doesn't exist but is a sum based loosely on torque x revs. So personally having 300 ft/lb at 6k is much better than having the same at 3k. For 1/4m its important to be able to get the power down quick and keep the car in the power band. A good drag car will have good midrange and even more power the closer it gets to the redline. Its important to stay in the power band on each change though. Not saying a track car won't perform well on the 1/4m, but a properly set up drag car will be way better on the strip than the track or even road.

On a front wheel car, you need to stop the rear suspension from moving. Max you want is 15% shock absorber moving. So either special stiff shocks or very large bump stops. This will increase frontal grip. Andy.

I've got some used track day tyres I might use too, but only because I expect to be rubbish at launching and light them up in major way. Dont want to wreck my road tyres prematurely. Anywhoo, for any 200 boys reading this, we're still on. Reason it's gone quiet is Matty is away on his hols and I'm offshore (will be back in plenty time though ).

Erm, what time are we planning on getting there for? I'd guess on it being an hour and half 'ish from Aberdeen and I dont want to have to get out of bed too early.
