well i had the coupe less than 1 day and i got caught on camera :-(

rushing to an interview in farnham did'nt know anything about it till today and im P$£%^D off put me in a foul mood for xmas my year has gone from bad to worse :-(

but the letter i got didnt state anything with regards to fine or points which is VERY WORRYING as i cant settle with what will happen as i drive for a living i already have 3 points ..

can any one tell me roughly what i would be looking at points wise etc for being caught doing 71mph on a 60mph 'A' road .. so worried and scared my fault i know and just my luck also .. so depending on this is wether i keep or sell the coupe :-(

merry christmas

Shouldn't be too hefty I'd have thought. 3 points and £80 most likely.

You can relax a bit, it's a 3-pointer.

I can't say too much on a public forum about fixed cameras or come to that, the camera vans, but in the good old days at least there was a bit of discretion

Possible plea in mitigation are unfamilar car and distraction but be warned as some magistrates turn those pleas around and say "well, if you were distracted to that extent then you were unsafe at the wheel etc etc etc" and at that point I'd better stop before I dig a deeper hole for myself

Contact your insurance company and see if two SP's will add anything to your premium, then invest in a speed camera detector!

Now relax and enjoy Christmas, it's done and dusted so not a lot of good will come from stressing about it.

yeah i better check my insurance now to be honest i know 3 points made no difference but i have a feeling an additional 3 will :-(

and on the line of the speed camera detectors i went straight on to ebay to look at GPS and speed camera detectors i have had 9 years of driving free from accidents ( touch wood ) and convicetions and now 2 speeding convictions in 2 blooming months GGGRRRRRRR

i just worry alot comes naturally.. thank you for putting my mind at ease a bit .. stan if you want to say a bit more email me lol but like you said sometimes to just take it that try and get away with it and make it worse .. i know there is alot of info about this but im just the un luckiest person you will ever know and probably not worth the risk

DON'T 'confess' until you see the evidence... it's not unknown for the equipment to be out of cal/operated by a twat!

You obviously didn't look at the photo then?

Static camera evidence, difficult to argue against unfortunately

Chris,

Would recommend you check out the PACE letter and associated gubbins. Lots of bikers have been getting off lately using it.

Good luck,

Daz

That's exactly it mate! Did you get a NIP (Notice of Intention to Prosecute [I think!})?

Search on MCN and PACE, might give you a better idea about whether you want to use it or not.

I know what you mean it does look really pink lol :-( will admit having it resprayed red in the spring with a bit of a kit ( hopefully a zender ) well thats if i can afford to keep it going to check insurance..

as for the exhaust mate i really dont know it was fitted when i got it i will look through the folder of receipts and also if an id tag stamped on it .. will say this MY GOD does it sound throaty and gurgle lol can hear the petrol guage going down lol

thats exactly what i got an letter of intended prosecusion (

( cheers stan )

just checked my insurance and was suprised looks like it will raise around £80 over the 10 months so think will take this on the chin .. purchase a sat nav / speed camera detector ( if anyone can recommend a good ~ cheapish ~ one ) and most of all importantly get to keep the COUPE

I bought a Road Angel Plus off the forum. Last week I drove through 2 sets of average speed cameras (SPECS?), on the A52 and A46 around Nottingham that weren't there the last time I drove in the area. I reckon it saved me 6 points, particularly as the A46 set were in the dark!

The first decision is whether you want a camera detector or combined sat nav/camera detector, then ask for recommendations. But go for a GPS based system, not a radar/laser detector. I wouldn't travel unfamiliar roads without one.

i know which ones you mean...For some reason there very difficult to see and theres no signs to say they are there.
Perhaps its because were so used to seeing them on the motorways with big blue poles and yellow cameras.
Around built up areas you cant see the posts. There everywhere in Nottingham now.

JBT, so it wasn't just me being blind then?

Drove through the first set after picking up the manifold, nearly had a heart attack when the RA started squalling at me. But was chuffed, first set of SPECS it's detected and squealed all the way through. No chance of forgetting or letting the speed creep up!

Not many of these escapes to make it pay for itself .

Right back to the point....

Where is the second picture showing time/distance (and therefore) speed?

Many Scamera partnerships are using out of cal equipment and rely on people rolling over rather than questioning.

I assume you were there/on the date/at the time/doing the speed?.. if there is any doubt even within a few minutes then dispute it!
