Evening all. So in July last year I bought a 20vt that had been off the road for 8 years. The previous owner said he was on here and had done a few track days. I bought as a non runner and after doing fuel pump small service of plugs, coolant, oil and replaced radiator(thanks to Joe at county) got the thing fired. Now engine sounds and feels solid, holds full 3 bar and only just twitches below 3 once fan comes on and running hot. Driven short test on private land and whilst taken very cautiously still managed to test throttle response and brakes both felt strong too... Now unfortunately I have a very untrained eye and just a lover of the coup....so my question is do I plunder on with MOT full service, belts etc. The car had the usual alarm issue but a folder full of receipts and up to being taken off the road good service history, inclusive of cam belt just prior to being taken off the road...any ideas or pointers from anyone undertaking/ undertaken a similar project .

As always any help, contributions or advice is greatly received

Many thanks

Scotty

Scotty can you email me a folder of pictures showing the areas listed below and I'll take a look and share my feelings on what I see.

General engine bay.
Closer shot of the slam panel and front cross member.
Suspension turrets.
Underside of bonnet, side seams and area by catch.
Radiator support bar.
Area behind front suspension legs.
Front arches and sill end plate.
Sills.
Panel area below rear quarter Pininfarina badges.
Rear arches.
Picture of the rear end with the boot closed.
Inner arch to boot floor areas both sides.
Area behind boot side covers below the rear lights.
Rear subframe from the side showing the rear mounts.
Rear springs.
Floor pans by the front and rear jacking points.
General all round exterior shots and anything else you'd like to show, condition of seats, console etc.

I should be able to give you a good indication of the vehicles condition, and if they're clear enough estimate any work required.

Ok Joe that's brilliant thank you. I'll sort that today hopefully if the weather holds off and if you were able to give your professional opinion I'd be happy to pay for your time. Unfortunately I don't know anyone locally that I could have give it the once over so I would hugely appreciate any help....thanks Joe and both for your comments and time to reply

Emails received Scotty so I'll have a look later today and reply via email.

VOSA check on the past MOT's didn't show any advisory horrors so hopefully that'll translate in the pictures.
