Before signing our lives away to our franchise, we are required to obtain independent legal advice on the contract. Regrettably, we don't know any ace contract law briefs.

Is there anyone here who is, or who knows, such a distinguished creature?

We are, naturally, looking to pay the going rate.

Thanks for any guidance.

I'm sure Emjay will have such a person among his learned partners.

The best way to get the right legal advice is to contact a Solicitor in your area.

The best way to do this is to search the website of the Law Society.

http://solicitors.lawsociety.org.uk

You will see loads of search criteria and refinement searches as you put in your details.

If you ring one of them and they can't help you then, I am sure they will give you the name of another suitable Solicitor in your area. However, before you ring them check their name also on the Law Society website to see if they are registered and see if they undertake the work that you require. See also if they have a website and what work they do.

I hope this helps. I am not a lawyer, but have used this route before on many occasions to find a specialist solicitor to do the work I required.

Thanks everyone! Emjay has once more donned his superhero cape and briefs (geddit?) to swoop to the rescue!
