Looking for a reliable SUV to transport my ever growing family. Doesn't need to be fast, just get us from A-to-B in comfort.

Has anyone ever owned Lexus RX300?

The wife has a 2010 CRV. They're great cars, reliable and do everything very well.

Had a CRV for 3 years until 2 months ago. Agree with you very reliable in that time it didn't need any work.

I had a jeep grand cherokee that was actually a very nice drive and plenty of room within it! Part of the pleasure was the 4.7L V8 though! That aside, I think you'll find the Jeep range surprising as a good SUV. Prices are reasonable too

I've had a 4.7 grand cherokee too, decent wagon for the money. I Have had the following....a dodge journey top spec 7 seater with vw diesel engine...something different but 2wd but every toy. Jeep patriot crd, again vw diesel, good mpg and 4wd really liked it, a jeep cherokee 3.7 log and 2.8crd, not overly refined enough to be a sup,.... peugeot 4007 diesel...Comes in 7 seat version too, very happy with it at the moment.

We are picking up a Skoda Yeti tomorrow which we found to be ideal for the family transport, reliable and well specified was what we wanted and have been happy with our other Skodas in that respect.

A mate has had a 3.0L V6 RX300 for years and still likes it. Apparently the gearbox is the weak point although his is still OK at over 100K miles.

He had a lot of problem with lambda sensor errors though, even after spending the best part of £1K replacing them (it has 3 or 4 sensors) with original Lexus parts. Last I heard he was just clearing the error when it appeared every 100 miles or so.

I like the look of the Yeti!

Father-in-law got CRV only main problem was the Blue-tooth got stuck on and kept draining the battery. Even the diesel has a chain so no cam belt fuss.

I believe that Toyota and Lexus have very sensitive/sophisticated computer systems....not sure if this is true????
