I have a 2.5 v6 that I kinda rescued for a trip.
I have sorted out all but one problem, it hunts on tickover.

So far on my quest because there were lots of issues its had:

New plugs (tried the irediom and standard NGK)
Oil
Filters (as a service)
Lamda senser (bosch I think)
Maf senser
replaced all coil packs and injectors

I have done a compression check and its all equal and good numbers.

Im kinda at a loss what to try next, I still seem to get knock senser on 1 and 2 cylinders.

Any ideas?

Have you checked for air leaks, or slight exhaust leak near the lambdas?

I have just been going through the process with my red GTV, tickover is unstable, and on using MultiECUscan, I occasionally get a low voltage error on the front bank lambda. If air is getting into the exhaust upstream of the pre-cat lambda, it will read low voltage and try to richen the mixture causing poor tickover (apparently).

Airleak post MAF will effectively do the same think, and the ECU will try to adjust mixture and throttle flap to compensate.

Likely exhaust culprit is the manifold gaskets not being fitted correctly. A common inlet air leak is either the ribbing on the flexi hose perishing, or a gasket not placed properly if someone has had the chrome intake tracts off.

Hope that helps if you have not already tried it.

Thanks Wombat, I think ill be replacing the intake hosing as there was a bodge done on the pipe work but it still looked air tight.
there is slight crazing on the donuts for the intake system but they look ok (and are bloody expensive to replace)

Cheers,!

I replaced the Fuel pump on our GTV(very easy job) and the idle went from slightly uneven to rocksteady.

I have seen youtube vids where people take the fuel pump out and clean the pumps own filter(ie not the fuel filter) and also do various other things.
