Can anyone guess the mileage and how much it cost me?

Nice colour love

I'd say she's got 23k on the clock and you paid £2500?

As Jim says above.

16VT and X1/9 1500

We must all do our part for the planet.
I unplugged a row of electric cars that nobody was using.

As was I when I looked at it.

The guy that I bought it from was the second owner, the first being a Fiat garage.

He is a driving instructor and used it for teaching for 7 years it has had absolutely everything it has ever needed done to it. It's even on the original exhaust.

Very pleased with my purchase.

Even my mileage hateing colleagues are impressed.

Stunning condition.

The sort of car you could clock to 50k and no one would bat an eye lid.

[I don't condone clocking]

What's the performance like on it ?

We were in competition with a "mechanic" that was going to take it without looking. The suspicion was that clocking was his plan.

My dad has been in the trade for years and was a fiat dealer for a good 15 years so knows all the tricks. He did the test drive for me.

The previous owner is real fiat fanatic. He replaced this with a new twin air panda as his work vehicle. Also owns an 500 abarth. Owned a cinq sporting and a yellow 20vt. Seemed a real nice guy.

How's the performance?
It's no 20vt (boy do I miss mine) but it is no slouch and it holds the road so well. The thing that impresses me the most is how it handles the twisties.

So many people, who wouldn't in any other circumstance, are admitting to thinking of buying one at some point.

Very pleased.with my purchase smile

Given that the car was used for driving instruction, it would always be running a the correct temperature, the exhaust would be hot and not allowing condensation to build up, and it would not have been thrashed or driven hard.

Yes, it is a good buy!

I suspect it's the gearbox and clutch that take the hammer on an instructor's car; neither a major issue if it's lasted this long.

A little update for those interested, the Panda is now approaching 204,000 and has not missed a beat since I have had it.

Still one of the best purchases I have ever made.

Good to see and a great advert to counter Fiat's so say unreliability record.
My Dad was a driving instructor for many years and accumulated very substantial mileages on his tuition cars.
The main service job would be a new clutch periodically, plus more than usual regular changes of discs and pads, but otherwise with good maintenance, surprisingly little time was needed to be off the road. smile
A well looked after "modern car" are often capable of huge mileages and people should be far less put off getting a "bargain", than they are.
Lets hope you crack 250k soon!

In 2009 we bought a new Grande Punto 1.3. The wife drives it quite hard and has completed over 100,000 miles. She hasn't achieved anywhere near the quoted MPG rate (She averages mid 40's) but it has also never needed anything, other than service items and anti roll bar drop links. A friend of hers bought a Vauxhall Corsa at the same time. She had so many issues and break downs that the car was eventually replaced FOC. But the replacement Corsa also spent so much time off the road and in the dealer that she finally got her money back!

Back on topic....

Love the little Panda love
