I’ve been reading lots of old threads about the different Coupé strut braces, but still haven’t managed to get the hang of which shapes fit which models.

Is this Sparco brace (over on eBay at the moment) the one from the 20VT LE?

Yes, that's the one that fits a 20vt without modifying anything else.

They usually go for around £75-£100. Used to be £150 new from Fiat but haven't been available for years.

I get the feeling more than one forum member will be bidding on that …

There's more than one up for grabs on Fleabay at the moment.

Hmmmm. I think I may have to make a strut brace you know. Can anyone show me a close up of the adjuster mechanism on the brace.

To be honest I think you would be better off making one. The sparco design looks flawed to me. I would assume under load it will flex due to it having bends

Challenge accepted!!!!!

I'll see if Nigel will let me sneak a peek at his when I pick up some bits off him.

I guess the Sparco design was a case of making the best they can out of the tight fit. It’s not perfect, but most owners seem to agree it helps.

Anyway, I’ve bought it now so I guess I will find out!

Under £20 and few hours of cutting , welding and painting. Big difference in handling

You made that?!

It's fantastic. Think it'll fit a Vis too.

Are you taking orders? wink

That's excellent. Pretty much what I planned on doing but with an adjuster in the middle. Does it fit well without any play? Any chance of some close up photos of where it attaches to the strut mount tops?

Looking good! I am about to ask my father-in-law to make something like that for me, hehe. Nice job.

Seems to be the same shape as the OMP brace minus the adjuster. Looks good!

I Have welded it on the bench (short pipes to washers , then on the car with spots first side bits , then center bar, after that welded it on the bench , if im not mistaking outside diameter is 32mm and 4mm wall. So its pretty stiff. And fits with original bolts spot on.

Thanks for fixing image link wink

I am not taking orders as its not time efficient for me to make them.

I can make some close up photos.
