hi all, oddity spotted in the paperwork of my "new" coupe earlier, wondering if anyone has any ideas or experience.

i am close to private / personalised / vanity plates, having a few on cars / on retention. but have never seen this before.

my coupe was originaly registered in 1999, under an "s" prefix. lets call it "s1".

4 months later there is then a registration plate change to another "s" prefix, nothing notable, lets call it "s2".

then - another owner added a 1x2 number/letter plate, very tasteful and one i understand.

the car then reverted back to "s2" once they sold up.

s reg change to s reg - weird???

all the above is shown on HPI reports and the car servicing sheets from the dealers - chassis / engine numbers match but the plates change in late '99.

thanks in advance, really curious, 1st world problems etc...

It should be recorded by dvla I have a plate change on mine and I think I have something that looks like a certificate too
Perhaps the initials meant something to a previous owner! Not every body's idea of a personal plate means something to anybody else and as it's not obvious it would of been cheap too!
I wouldn't worry too much about it as long as it's all above board with the dvla!

cheers rich - yes, all in order, just found it curious car was registered new in jan99, then by apr99 another standard "s" plate was moved onto the car. yes, not all means to everyone, but found it odd.

shows on HPI report with full details, all stacks up with Fiat invoices - just curious more than anything else!

probably need to spend more time worrying about oil pressures, brake lines, stonechips, etc...
