LE & Plus numbers are unreliable, as many are listed as standard 20VT's

16v and vt numbers are more reliable however, they're just a handful left...

surly the value of the car will go up if they are becoming rare ??

Imo people under value there coupes. It's about time people ask for more. You shouldn't sell a coupe but if you do, sell it for what you think it's worth

I agree, but while there are shiny sheds out there for less than a grand, prices will be held down. Anyone that's been around Coupes for a while will know that the £500 bargain very rarely turns out to be such a bargain after the faults have been corrected. However, people with no money or no sense will just see "turbo" on the b pillar and "160" on the clocks and dive in blind. The sad fact is that when it all goes wrong, they'll blame the car.

I can't see coupes in general being true "collectors" cars for at least 10 years. L.E.'s and really good examples of standard cars will be different, but still wont make the prices they should do. Its hard to understand when cars like Morris Minors sell for 2 to 5k

Start buying the nice ones now people prices will go up and the rarer models will be bang on the money

The good examples do sell for good prices which is encouraging what did the plus coupe that Motormech had for sale sell for? Was it £7000? That was a beauty though.

The process has already started - the very best cars are fetching strong money now. We had no problems moving the 2003 Plus for over £5k and the epically-clean 25,000 mile Plus we had last month generated lots of enquiries (and a sale) at £7,500

I think we got an absolute steal with the Doppio, there's no way we'll ever lose money on that one unless an elephant falls onto it out of the sky. Anyroadsup, it's not for sale, she's in love with it already; when we had a little problem with it yesterday she just said "I'm not even slightly bothered, if it needs fixing, we'll just get it fixed".

Mrs G is quite keen on getting one too.... I think the Turin trip got her brainwashed hooked.

The Coupe has been down at around <£1000 for a while now... so can't be too long before the sheds go to scrappy heaven.

The only thing preventing us is parking space. I'd love a big garage.... full of Coupes, exotic motorbikes.. a jet engine out of a Mig 23...

I know we all have different opinions. So mine is that i dont care how much they are worth now or in the future.

I always find these threads about the value going up odd. The way I see it, if you have a Coupé now, then by the time it's worth £2k more than it is currently due to this 'classic' status, you'll have spent more than that keeping it on the road!

Just keep spending if you want to/can or change to something else if you don't want to/can't.

you would have to prise the keys out of my dead hand to get mine... sorry but mine stays with me... would sooner keep the coupe than the house.
