At last, got you you little bu66er!
Having found a stray whisker on my jawline, I get a bit OCD. No way I can ignore it. I've been trying to pull the blighter out and after 15 minutes I finally got it.
Other things that cause me to react/obsess beyond any rational basis include:
a) people folding corners in books as a book mark
b) people bending the spine of books so they open more flat
c) someone ironing folds into collars and cuffs of my shirts (a friend once stayed and ironed all my shirts (and that's a lot of shirts!) in this way as a thank you - I was mortified!)
d) throwing a toothpaste tube away before I am satisfied I have got the very last possible bit out!

Loading the dishwasher. What is the point in randomly cramming stuff in, if it comes out dirty? The whole and only point of a dishwasher is to save you time by cleaning your dishes. So removing plates, etc, with now baked on food that you have to wash by hand is not just pointless and irritating, it's perverse and irrational. I mean, if you're going to do that, why not just soak the bloody dishes in the sink? At least that way, you won't have to scrub so hard when you finally end up washing them by sodding hand. And putting huge pans into the dishwasher that either impede the spray arms or simply stop any water getting to the dirty dishes above. Why? WHY??? It's a dishwasher, let it wash the dishes. IT'S NOT THAT HARD!!!!!!!
But it doesn't really bother me much.

I'm not anywhere near being classed as OCD, but...
People writing in (printed) books is even worse, I bought as "as new" technical reference book and the seller had underlined several sentences on a couple of pages in pen so I got a significant reduction on the price.
Toilet roll being unrolled in the holder (and always with the tear off bit coming down from the front)
Loo seat top cover is OK to be up, but not the seat, and loo must always be flushed and free from bodily excretions (a nightnare with two boys). And whilst on the subject, why do men/boys wee in a W/C when there is a perfectly good urinal close by, and worse still, wee all over the seat?
We have a 3 light switches on one fitting in the kitchen, it's nice to have all the switches lined up when the lights are off (one of them is 2 way)
In general I am a messy individual, the garage and my "desk" at home have piles of stuff everywhere that need putting away somewhere, but it all takes too much time. All the above stuff is easy stuff that can be done quickly, but despite my messy desk/garage I find it annoying when others don't bother.

I'm with you, Jim - it drives me mad that my wife will, say, have a bowl of Weetabix before rushing out to work and then leave it on the bench to mature for a day before sticking it straight into the dishwasher. And don't even get me started about putting in pans that still have rice stuck to the bottom or her habit of making a cup of coffee, drinking half of it then eating an apple or a cereal bar and putting the core/wrapper into her coffee cup.
And breathe.
My other OCDs are:
- Jamie has socks with days of the week written on, and I have to make sure that they match up with the actual day.
- When I'm cooking I have to have two sheets of kitchen paper to putting peelings and other rubbish on, so I can lift the whole thing up and drop it in the bin when I'm finished.
- Toast. Don't even get me started on how toast has to be made.
I'm sure there are more, my wife certainly complains about a lot more.

My little OCD's
Like DaveG, having a toilet roll dispense with the tear-off bit coming down the front ONLY.
I have to have the volume on the TV, car, radio at an even number. Sometimes my wife deliberately turns the volume to 11 to see how how long I can last before needing the remote to change to either 10 or 12.
Like DaveG, I like the lightswitches to line up in the same position,
I like the tinned food in the press to face outwards,
When I make a cuppa tea, I move the teabag from side to side with a teaspoon 21 times, before sqeezing it against the side of the cup and adding milk (odd that unlike the volume on the TV, this is an uneven number).
Butter, jam etc must be spread evenly across the bread,cracker and right to the very edges and not just a dollop in the middle. I like consistency of flavour.
But I guess that's all just normal....right?

I told Laura that I consider this grounds for divorce. - My socks have to match not just by style/colour, but also by 'feel'. - I do most of the cooking in our household. The kitchen must be spotless before I start and I frequently clean as I go and I like it to be very tidy before I sit down to eat. - The television/radio volume must be set to a multiple of 5. 21 and 13 are exceptions to this rule. - Just about everything that Laura does around the house, with a few exceptions, has to be redone in secret. She doesn't necessarily complete tasks in an incorrect manner, she just doesn't do them *my* way.

I have the even numbered volume setting quirk and the evenly spread jam etc one too.
Tea/Coffee/Sugar jars must run from left to right in that order (I feel so strongly about this that I scrubbed the writing off of them to stop Mrs. Jimbob putting them back however she pleased).
Uniform must be set out for the next day in the order that I put it on.
Anything which can be, must be arranged in descending size order (with the exception of my books, which are arranged alphabetically by authors surname, Mrs. Jimbob's are in descending size order and it really bugs me).
Everything in my cars must be switched off before the engine, I can't leave a heater fan turned on.
The most awkward one I have is that all journeys, regardless of length, must be a loop... I can't stand retracing my steps.
I'm sure i have many, many more, but i refuse to obsess over it. Mrs. Jimbob probably has a list somewhere.

Not only do I detest this, but the butter in the tub must be scraped out and not stabbed at. At home this is fine, because she knows the rules, but at work I often end up not using the butter.

What I meant with unrolled loo roll, is I hate seeing it sat there unrolled and messy like the Andrex puppy has visited, I have to roll it back up.
As for tea, I am a complete anti-connoiseur (if there is such a word) since I add milk *first* before adding water, and dunk until the tea turns the exact shade of brown required (let me go and look up a Pantone number...)

I'm sure I've got loads. I can't think of anything numbers based, but my favourite number is 17 if your interested.
The celing lights in the kitchen have to be off (I don't like them) and the undercupboard ones are turned on instead.
Crisp packets have to be opened the right side up, otherwise something terrible will happen. Maybe.
The one thing that I absolutely HATE HATE HATE is when someone makes a cup of coffee/tea and dips the wet spoon into the sugar bowl - leaving brown clumps of sugar or at worst..... coffee granules. AGHHHHHHHHH. I hate coffee. Wipe the spoon or use a fresh spoon FFS!
Check the front and back door before going to bed. Even when I locked it 30 seconds before. Maybe thats my memory going instead.
Always look out the window/letterbox before bedtime. Just in case.

We've had our collie-cross pup for about 6 months now and she's fitted into our house well. Her and youngest son have been best friends/partners in crime since the day she arrived and all it well, other than she seems to have reached a chewing phase, which I believe is quite common in adolescent dogs.
It's only a problem when she's left alone or at night, when she's locked in the kitchen with our other dog. She's working her way through the chair in the kitchen, but that's expendable, and we put everything else out of reach, the only issue is dog beds.
She absolutely shreds any bed she's given (or any that the other dog is given, for that matter), rendering them ruined within a couple of days.
We leave her with plenty of toys, but unless their something she can destroy she's not really interested. She'll play with a Kong or the ball she has providing that they've got food hidden inside them, but she's a bright dog and has worked out how to pin them down and get the food quickly.
Something like a hide bone will keep her entertained, but she can get through one in under an hour. Similarly she likes carrots and apples, but they're gone in minutes.
Tennis balls and the like are treated with complete disinterest.
Anybody got anything else we can try? We really don't want to be forking out for a new dog bed once a week. Let alone have it quoted for posterity!

That reminds me. Mrs G ALWAYS leaves the radio on in the car, and turns it off with the ignition. So I get in, and I get Radio 2 at full volume as soon as I turn the key !! The years that has knocked off my life.....

I've remembered a few more.

In my kitchen, I want things put back where they came from. It doesn't go there. It goes here. I don't care if it is more sensible for it to go there. It goes here.
I am also a bit obsessive about spellings. First thing I do in any restaurant is look for the spelling mistake on the menu.

Infact, I can normally tell who has been to my house by where things have been put in the kitchen. Bread knife (although not part of the set) should go in the knife block - but the MiL always puts it in the draw. Honestly I must have mentioned it to her like a million times....

I'm with you all on the numbers thing.
Volumes ideally a multiple of 5 but failing that, an even number.
Definitely not a prime number (except 5!). I just couldn't leave it that way!
My car stereo is ideally on 7 but I have to make it 6 or 8. Either too low or too loud, but at least an even number!!!!
At least it's not just me.
Car wheels should have an odd number of spokes (5 or 7), so my coupe is an exception with the 8 spokes (I still think it is 4 spokes with a cut out in each spoke).
