Random question:

Anyone here knows anything about glazing? Particularly with respect to optical distortions, colour diffaction effects and transmittive colours? And could point me to a suitable resource (book or internet) where I could read up?

What are you trying to do?

I was a telescope manufacturer for 25 years.

That's nothing. It was all my fault that the Hubble mirror was the wrong shape. NASA threatened to send me up there to fix it, but I told them I was afraid of flying. And of mirrors.

Looking at a standard with respect to the above on windscreens. I'm looking at its application to a flat glass windscreen, and think that this means I don't need any further analysis, but don't know enough to be able to say it authoritatively.

Can you say a bit more about the variables/quantities/values you are looking for, and the practical application you wish to put them to? I'm still not quite clear on that. Sorry for being opaque (see that? laugh )

Are you just looking for a standard for the optical distortions produced by a particular windscreen, model of windscreen, the glass it's made of, ...?

Don't worry, I don't have much of a clue either.

Could be an issue to do with laminated glass, possibly the material used for the middle layer, but still looking and learning.
