I think you'll find Walloons are French-speaking. You're thinking of Les Flamands...

"Walloon is more distinct as a language than Belgian French" according to Wikipedia, but I'll accept the 'like French' association. I never could work out which section of the Belgian populace, and where, were called what and spoke which variant of what other language. 'Polyglot' is too narrow a description of Belgian national linguistics.
