Ok its true, you really do miss them.

My old Porto was a bit of a dog and i realise that now but i have such fond memories of trips out. Even though when i came to sell it i was sick to the back teeth as it needed so many things doing to it.

I thought that buying myself a pristine 96 Impreza wrx and doing a few modifications like big wilwood brakes, compomotive Mo's, plenty of engine mods etc would have ridden the coupefanatic inside me but, alas it has not, i need another.

One advantage is that i should get a reasonable amount for the impreza which means i can look at the real nicely cared for coupes when im shopping for one. Cant wait!


And i can only say to anyone considering going to an evo or impreza after a coupe, dont do it they really do fall flat on their feet after 60mph ther transmission losses kill the acceleration, i still havnt experienced acceleration as brisk as when i had my 62 trim coupe!!!

Anyway sorry for the random ramblings!

i recently sold my classic impreza wrx. And have just purchased a coupe 20vt. and i must admit having no regrets. Loving the coupe.

They are addictive Davie, so much so that I'm considering another one to keep my 182 company.

Are you saying that i meant to 'sting' someone because i certainly didnt, and i dont appreciate your tone one bit pal!!!!!!!

When they came to the car jbt found rust at the back end that i wasnt aware of and i reduced the price to suit, they got it for £600 for a 62 trim coupe that ran a 13.8 1/4 mile, it eventually got broken and i bet they didnt lose any money!!!

No i didnt and felt pretty bad, proccy could have walked away but decided to buy it and as i said i expect noone lost any money after breaking the parts.

Just to say it was me who decided to buy it, no-one forced me and i welcome Davie back to the fold should he be lucky enough to find one he likes.

Buying any car "street-side" without the opportunity for a full inspection is risky but for the money i took the gamble - it failed, Joe78 bailed me out and i didn't lose a penny other than my fuel there and back (and £200 burger king for porkypaul). As i can't break cars and if he's made money on it fair play to him. I have no criticism of anyone involved. I remain 100% convinced Davie knew nothing of the poor state of the car underneath and in those hidden areas.

For those of us who missed these original problems, which are the hidden problem areas to look out for?

I have just done a cleanup underneath and resprayed some parts and replaced the undersealing. I would like to know if I missed looking into some essential areas.

Btw, the car is noticably quieter after two coats of underseal and some clear wax spray. The engine note is easier to hear

Still looking for one, thinking about px'ing my impreza for this although mines prob worth more like 2.5k tbh just want to get back in a coupe!!

This car has been up for sale for a very very long time, i was tempted to go look at this before i bought mine. With a bit of haggling you could get this for a very good price - from memory i think he has had this up for sale for about 7 or 8 months now.
