I've got a red Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo 1997 R reg, 61K miles, £2,000 spent on it in the last year. I just received a call from a guy who asked me about it in a local car park at the weekend and I think he might be intersted in buying it. Ilve got to call him back but want an idea of my cars value.
There is a scratch on the drivers door and scuff on the back left bumper. It was left in a garage for 8 years only driven occasionally, so bodywork is pretty good.
How much do you think it would be worth?
Thanks,
Jon

Having a look through the recent for sale adverts in the market place will give you as good an idea as any. Here. That is why we keep old adverts visible.

Tough one Jon. Unfortunately not as much as you might hope; even well sorted Coupes don't fetch much. The value is in the driving of an unrecognised supercar; I have three, and my last two cost less than £1.5K total (but I have spent 5 times that amount in the last year to sort them out).
Unless you are offered silly money keep it! You will regret the loss!!

A supercar isn't necessarily the fastest car, the most expensive, the snobbiest label. But, in a number of regards, it should be the acme of motoring experience. That could also include looks, exclusivity, power, aspiration to ownership, history.
A FIAT coupé may be comparable in some regards to a genuine supercar, but it isn't one. It wasn't one brand new and it isn't one 15+ years later.
It it was one, then so are an awful lot of other cars - meaning you lose sight of what a supercar should be.
Good luck with the sale.

OK, I can buy in to the fact that a Coupe does not tick the same boxes as a Lambo, Fezza, etc., but I am happy to take on 99% of the other cars I see on the road. I get overtaken by some cars which just gives me a little smile. The knowledge of the possible is enough (most of the time)......

No. A coupe is a grand tourer. You get in in London and get out in Berlin.

It's a 'super' car, not a 'supercar'

I suppose it all depends on what ones definition of the word Supercar is, it seems rather vague at best. Most dictionary entries give a description of the term Supercar as - "A very expensive fast or powerful car with a centrally located engine" That sure rules out the Coupé, and a whole load of other cars too. I suppose a car with such a unique design, both inside and out, a +200hp motor that made the car the fastest accelerating FWD car (At time of sale) and also make it capable of acheiving over 150mph could be regarded as being, well, "Super" by some? The whole definition "Supercar" is clearly subjective and means different things to different people I guess.

+1 ! Agree with Tim's sentiment on this one - supercar=hubris. Guess it's the numbers which give it away Tim
