Hey,

I've got a 16vt, have had it for a year now. its spend the past 4 months off the road however due to a problem that has me baffled?!?

when you start it up its a pig, it misses, runs horribly and if you touch the throttle it just tries to die.

also when driving it it drives as normal untill 3k then it sounds like the engine is limiting, it just wont rev anymore and stops pulling.

the oil pressure when cold is 3 bar, this slowely drops as the engine heats up to basically nothing. the light started to flicker last time i started it up so i shut the engine off straight away.
car also throws out smoke when you run it. not sure about when its heated up.

i'm not sure what to do, get rid of the car, or keep it and repair this too! it currently has no MOT or Tax on it, but i have just (before putting it off the road) done the cambelt, and changed the clutch.

Its only got 68k on it, i'm trying to work out what my best course of action is? any advice?

do i sell it? do i scrap it? i really cant warrant the money its going to cost me to continue working on it and putting it back on that road? i dont know.

Check oil level,if the oil light is coming on,it doesnt look great.


If you cant throw money into it ,gota go aint it.
No mot ,tax ,running problem,possible low problematic oil pressure.A no go for me personally.
