Well it's finally happened, I think I might actually like my 20v! laugh
Over the last couple of weeks I've found time to sort a few little niggles out with my 20v;

-Fixed dent on bonnet
-Fixed dent on rear light cluster
-Fixed remote locking
-Fixed pushed-through buttons on dash
-First interior detail
-First proper exterior detail (clay followed my 3-stage Meguiars cleaner, polish, wax)

But this has come at a price - now I'm happy with the car I've found myself looking at things such as S/S exhaust, HIDs, refurbed petrol cap, new badges, refurbed b-pillars/mirrors etc etc............. rolleyes

But I've owned a coop long enough to resist spending money on treats until it's passed its MOT at the end of next month!! tongue

You do tend to love them more when the little issues have been sorted out.

Well done mate.

Good one Nick,

I think you are about three or four stages in front of me with my VIS.

I still have dents in the bonnet, cranky fuel gauge, dodgy starter motor plus all the usual service items...but I'm really warming to the flying custard after the first week of ownership.

Jon

Out of all the things i've done it's fixing the remote locking that's made me happiest! It used to drive me mental when the car would constantly unlock itself, much to amusement of my mates/workmates!
It's much less stressful driving the coop now! smile simple things for simple people I suppose!

Good to see someone else enjoying their vis, the jobs never end though and sounds like you have had an easy ride so far wink

I look at the 2 dinks in my bonnet and keep thinking I must get them done but something else pops round the corner, should have bought shares in AA !!!

Guess you've got the following left:
Rad
Wishbones
Drop links
Track rods
Top mounts
etc etc....

Have fun laugh

Rog at Poweritalia had the car before me, so everything was bang-on when I bought it! However the potholes in Leeds were a disgrace this winter so god knows what state my suspension's in now!! I'm getting my next full service done at one of the specialists so will get it all checked over.......

I know the one, nice car and would have bought it had he sold it earlier frown

Don't think you'll have too many problems (oh no kiss of death time)with it, good luck and check the crankcase breather "how to guide" as it makes a real difference.

Yea, i've noticed that crankcase how-to before. Is it worth doing on my coop even though it's running fine at the moment! What improvements do you see?!

If your car is ticking over nicely at 750rpm when warm then don't bother yet.

However if your tickover is around 950-1000 increasing with temperature eventually going haywire when stuck in traffic in summer then it's worth a visit. You may also get the odd unexplained stall as well.

Seems to happen to every vis so far, tried lots to find it until the vis expert that is Joe CC told me what it was smile

Ah, well I do get a random stall every now and again! So maybe it's worth a look! Thanks for the heads-up! smile

Did mine at the weekend as it was idling around 1000 and climbing...rock staedy at 750 all around the M25 crawl this evening...good result for very little effort

Well after today's experience of viewing a 20vt I really now appreciate what a brillant, straight example of coupe I actually have!!

If anyone's thinking of going to view a black 20vt in Huddesfield, advertised on Pistonheads, please send me a PM before you set off! wink

Why are you looking at 20vt's if you're enjoying your VIS so much bud?

........... because I miss having a turbo! I was only half interested, and really organised the viewing just to give me something to do on a sunny Sunday afternoon! laugh

But I think if I do eventually go for a 20vt I'm going to have to splash out a bit more than £1k! wink

I think I'm going to stick a Cybox exhaust on my coop, enjoy the 20v sound for a year and do a bit of saving!

Johnny - I've always had a coupe! It's just i decided to give a 20v a go for a while after the expense of running a 16vt for a couple of years! smile

Get your self down to Motormech for a S/S! Good to hear you're enjoying the ownership Nick. I know how much of a annoying it can be to have a car you dont like is.
