Losing a bit of heart with the coupe because it has given me one niggle too many recently. I'm really thinking of getting rid but I'm not sure if it is worth selling as a whole or breaking.

Everything was fine at Christmas so I had the cambelt done for £450. Shortly after that a load of unrelated problems have appeared:
* Clutch judder in 1st gear.
* Leak in my Proalloy water radiator.
* Airbag light sometimes flickers.
* Small oil leak.
* At least 2 tyres will need replacing soon.
So probably needs £1k spending on it having just spent £450 frown

It is also a bit untidy in places, wheels need reconditioning, there are several dents, cracked front Zender bumper, marks on the leather seats. Also, for the last 40,000 miles there has always been a single puff of smoke as it is warming up. It doesn't do it cold, or once warm, and has never got worse in 40k miles so I have never worried about it but it might put off some buyers.

Not sure what it's worth with these problems. It still drives fine, has really good oil pressure and has a load of uprated parts:
* ported hybrid turbo,
* engine completely rebuilt 60k miles ago
* proalloy fmic with SIP,
* flea mapped ECU,
* Koni SSK adjustable shocks,
* loweing springs,
* stainless exhaust,
* ported exhaust manifold,
* uprated fuel system (pump, mod, FPR),
* Greddy boost controller,
* Infinity component audio system,
* barnacle widget
* Complete spares package from another coupe!

I reckon I could probably clear £2.5k if I broke it and as I did my brother's I am not too worried about doing it. That said, if it was worth that as a whole I'd probably just sell it. Any idea of the value?

I think for the things wrong with it its not worth breaking or selling?

I cant see a clutch and rad, two tiers and a oil leek fixing costing 1k sick

If you do decide to break however, ill take the widget thumb

Clutch will be around £500, tyres £150 for 2 but back tyres arent exactly great either, radiator £150 for a standard one or £? to reapir the alloy one, oil leak could be sump which isn't cheap...£1k or there abouts! I dunno, just after spending £450 on the cambelt it is hard to swallow.

What would you be after out of interest? Mine's the wine red one (my dad and brother have the others).

I think it depends on what you are going to do if you break or sell.

Are you going to end up buying another one and thinking, bugger I wish I hadn't sold this part or that, and then going out and buying this part or that for the replacement.

Gotta ask yourself are you going to replace it with another coop and start tricking it out all over again etc

We need a newer more practical car because me and my fiancee are doing a lot of miles between us. We would share the newer car and the polo she currently drives. So we would have 2 mundane euroboxes, but I'm working on convincing her we should save up for a kit car laugh wish me luck with that one! I thought about keeping the coupe as a third car but it's not really what I'm looking for in a third car.

If the parts were dent and scratch free I'd take the bonnet, bootlid, rear bumper and passenger door. If I was feeling fruity I have the wing mirriors too.
