Just fitted novitec chip and on road test car is missing on full throttle I know it’s not the best way to increase power but just wondering if anyone has had issues with this chip? Should I try a gtec 1? I don’t have a boost gauge by the way

Novitec can overboost a fair bit...might be causing it.

GTEC 1 not as aggressive on the overboost map...

Either way get a boost gauge at the very least, and a rolling road check on the fuelling, otherwise trying to save money by not doing it could result in a far bigger bill....

I’ve ordered a gtec 1 I’ve used them on my other coupe’s But thought I would try a novitec just out of curiosity, also noticed on here tuning list states £250 for novitec but I paid £25 so I’m not over confident in it, let’s see what the gtec does

The Novitec chip was one of the first ever produced for the 20vt and £250 was about the cost way back then, I bought a used one from Germany many, many years ago. Along the way I had a disastrous excursion with a Unichip, and have since used Gtec1/2 chips.

But these days they are as cheap as, well, chips! laugh

Where did you order the G-Tech from? Ebay is awash with fakes - the only genuine source is "TraumaX" on ebay, otherwise known as GrahamL (hence "G") on this forum

Check the spark plug gap, the condition of the wiring to the coil packs and also the coil pack earth point at the right-hand end of the camcover

Mattcooke - Remove it as soon as you can - I had a novitec chip way back in the day and it blew cylinder 5 piston ring - very costly repair.

Loving my ReMap 410bhp/358lbs
