For those who have refurbished their filler caps if you didn't lacquer it how often and how time consuming is polishing?
If you did lacquer how well has it lasted? Anything good or bad to use?

don't bother to lacquer it after you have polished it , just give it a wax when you wax the car .

I removed the lacquer about 10 years ago and polished it on a cloth wheel on the bench grinder.

Now give it a polish with a metal polish (infused in cotton wadding) about once a month to keep it looking good. Also do the chrome exhaust tip at the same time.
