Calling Gripped!

I've wanted a Bongo for years, but never managed to get resources and opportunity to coincide. I think you're right to have an unconverted one; I feel that the strength of the Bongo is its versatility (you can turn the seats into a bed, or remove them, rather than limiting it to being a rather too small dedicated camper. Bongo Fury is the best name ever for an owners' group and it seems to be a hugely helpful and friendly resource.
Good luck with it, Reuben, and keep us posted!

It was very cheap for a bongo and there are a couple of issues but a decent base.
Barnacle.. Roof... Check

Jim, yes we want to keep all the seats and possibly fit a rear kitchenette that is easily removable. It does keep all options open.

Had 4 new tyres yesterday on a much better profile. Was on 205/50/16's .. We all know what those tyres fit!

Roof works, has low coolant alarm, leisure battery already fitting with split charger I believe.

Next year I reckon it needs new rear arches and needs a very good clean inside.

Hey !!!

Welcome to Bongo land.

Yours is the same as ours down to the colour... But you have the 4wd version... (jealous)

Currently sleeping in ours on a trip north.

You're right that Bongos don't rust any worse than others of the era. The main issues being the rear arches.

Feel free to run any queries past me or just ask the Bongo Forums.

Happy Bongoing.

Cheers gripped. Lots of questions!
4wd was just a plus really. Happy for any model for the price we paid.
Unsure what the leisure battery fitted powers? It have fuses under the bonnet but not connected to anything in the fuse box?
Thinking of getting and android stereo so we can have integrated sat nav-dvd player and reversing camera.
Lots of plans..
