Hello,

I plan to buy a coupe but I'm disappointed (and suspicious) after seeing the RR résults...

Mods are:
fmic,Gt 2871, straight induction,blueflame , remap Fc performance, walbro...

note that the boost level is 1b2 and on the five gear.

here is the graph:

what do you think about it?
this car is not very efficient I think, no?

thanks

chris

Are those figures on wheel or at the crank?

310@ wheels is about right for a gt2871 with those mods - should equate to about 350-360 at the flywheel

You don't say what AR the turbine housing is - my 0.64 gave over 400bhp, the 0.86 is capable of more

What Nigel said. 350-ish bhp at the flywheel.

1.2bar is quite a modest boost for that turbo too. You would probably see a power increase if the boost was higher. But I wouldn't increase it without going forged. That's probably as much as the standard engine can take.

What? 1.2bar of boost isn't max on standard engine. There are loads of coupes running 1.4 - 1.5 boost on standard internals without issues mine being one of them - 3 years without problems...

Yes, but 1.5 bar on a GT2871 will give around 400bhp, 375lb-ft and several bent conrods

1.5 bar is OK on a small turbo (with sufficient other mods), but not with something like a GT2871

Some people have got away with it, but IMHO, they're driving a grenade

At the end of the day, if the power figures between two cars is identical, 1.2 bar using a GT2871 is better than 1.5 bar on a hybrid

I was referring to the boost people are running on standard internals on various turbos not this specific one. I guess I should have mention this in my original post wink

I think Nigel's last post sums it up nicely.

I will also agree with Nigel as my engine history includes 2 cracked pitons and a bent con rod.

362bhp of warble

It all depends on the engine as well. Flea mapped a sprinty on standard internals running a gt2871r .86ar which was driven like it was stolen for nearly 3 years before the engine went. And even then it didn't bend a rod or melt/crack a piston. It spun a big end.

One of my mates currently runs a Borg Warner turbo on his stock engine and produced nearly 400bhp on the heartbreaker at Surrey Rolling road at 1.6bar!! And his engine is still going strong.

It's amazing quite frankly.
