£350 Sprinty 20vt for sale in Gloucester

£350 Sprinty 20vt for sale in Gloucester - 12/10/2017 19:34

Been off the road for a while, the seller says it's been well maintained over the last 14 years.
Ripe for salvage, it seems like a good buy.
Viewing the mot history on R175HHP it looks to have had a smoky turbo fix, welding and radius arms repairs in the past.
Gumtree advert
I'm afraid a growing family and a shrinking income prevent me from giving it a home.
I hope someone can.

Good news for the Coupe community, not good for you I guess .
Dud you chat much to the seller?
Apart from the quarter panel issues the paint looked good with no lacquer peel.
Shame no interior or engine pics.

Hello I'm the buyer of that coupe 😂, it has 2 owners and full service history with thousands spend throughout the last years before it was taken off the road,
It needed a new alternator and rocker cover gasket and a mot, just taken it to my garage to have that work done.
Bodywork is the last of my worries,
Aiming to make the car road legal first then turn it into a beast'
I've had several coups throughout the years and thought this was a cheap buy

So Kriskerry.
You aimed to make this road legal then turn it into a beast eh?

Or "took it in part-ex"???

Which was it?????

I see you didn't get the MOT on it after all.....wonder why that is looking at the MOT history? I can't imagine...

Expensive waterpump and pulley that was - bearing in mind its now £1600 not the £350 you paid for the car

What i do with the car is up to me not you, i had plans for this car but due to family commitments its changed!

even if the car cost me £350 then £100 recovery back home, then £200 for leather interior, £150 for pulley and labour, then £70 battery and £40 mot thats my business! £ iv spent around £1k including the car so grow up with your childish messages!👍🏽

I don't see what the issue is really. Buy a cheap car, do some work and sell it for (if you're lucky) a small profit.

I'd do exactly the same given the opportunity.

Can you imagine the outcry if Kriskerry had bought the car and then decided it was not worth spending money on to get it to it current higher value state, and instead decided to break it? It might have fetched more money that way, but this way, having had some money and parts thrown at it with an increased sale value now, and a small profit along the way, it's likely to keep going for a few more years, especially if the rust issues shown on the past MOTs have been attended to. At least this way the really low value cats will be weedled out and "base" values will rise...good on yer fella!

The only thing that always bugs me as a dealer, are private adverts that say "took as a p/x" as a lie, and "part exchanges considered at trade prices". But no warranty is offered. Can't have best of both worlds!

My tuppence worth!

And that is the only reason I even brought this thread back to life.I have no issue with people buying and selling to make a profit - none at all - I have done it many many times - don't exactly do it to make a loss. What rankled was the "taken as px" which was contrary totally with this thread - cant abide that sort of thing. If you're trading, whether officially, or as a hobby - say so. I didn't intend to comment further. Anyway, each to their own and caveat emptor
