Hi All.

I'm new to the forum and have just bought a low mileage 20V
turbo coupe. The previous owener installed a truly horrible Pioneer head unit with flashing multicolour display. It's almot impossible to use, and I want to replace it with a Becker Indianapolis CD/Radio/Satnav unit that better suits the style of the fascia.

I have seen that one or two members have fitted Becker units in the past. Is it just a plug in fit to standard ISO connectors on the car?

Also, is there a speed pulse signal to any of the pins on the ISO connector for the satnav to work accurately? I've read there is an output from the gearbox speed sensor to the dash, but does it go to the radio connector?

Any comments much appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Best Regards,
Jeremy

Hi Jeremy, welcome to the forum and coupé ownership smile

A Becker head unit is a great choice in comparison to the Pioneer, which is left set on the demo is enough to make you have a fit crazy

The speedo sensor on the diff does send its signal to the dash dials, that's where it terminates so there's no radio connection I'm afraid, you'll have track the colours down on the wiring diagram and solder in a take off.

Joe.

You have it in the ECU plug too, mine was connected there, never calibrated it properly though - you have to set the imp/km value in the Becker menu - don’t remember the correct value number, the ecu pin number neither...take a look at the electric diagrams for the VSS pin.

Thanks very much Both. I had sort-of twigged it might get as far as the dash, so it's a case of studying the wiring diagrams? Where might they be available?

Best Regards,
Jeremy
