Just use masking tape and cut with a Stanley knife to cover the silver strips , primer , top coat and lacquer then remove the masking tape when touch dry then leave for the paint to go hard . I used spray cans as your get a better finish than a brush .

When you two have quite finished I would also like to say what a nice job you have done, but I am surprised because it was blue to start with and I got the impression you rather liked blue.

I have sprayed a few front badges before , one in electric blue and one in wine red. I have a red one on the car at the moment using the same paint I used to refurb my brembo's .

I like the red better than blue especially against steel grey. Did this to mine a couple of months back but decided not to get the red rear badge as mine is debadged at the back.
