Catchy little title
I was thinking of organising a summer meet, probably in the Flight Tavern in Gatwick as that has worked in the past.
Possible date is the 16th July.
I think perviously someone (possibly Hanny) devised a nice drving route for before we get to the pub, so I am sure this can be arranged again
So any hands for Sunday 16th July the Flight Tavern in Gatwick.

I am not planning on the dentman or scratchman, if someone else wnat to look into they can, btu we may have to check with the pub, as I assume the car park is their private property and as such may not want it being done.
@ Vics - did you inform the pub that you were going?

Yes I did for all the meets, you need to get there on 12:00 to ensure that the wait for food is short other wise the Sunday rush begins and it can take a while to get served.

i think there should be a longer cruise this time, the drive was the best bit last time,it's not often you get a line of coops cruising down the rd.

From the pub,
Back out to the A23 North bound,
Onto the A217 (london Road) north bound,
Follow that upto the A25 and turrn left (east bound)
Follow that till the A24 and turn left again (south bound)
FOllow that down to the A264 and turn left (west bound)
Then head back too the A23 and turn left (North bound) and head back to pub.
That should be about 35 miles and take 45 mins.
No idea if that would be a good drive or not though, and it isn't close enough for me to go check it out really. Anyway, there is my suggestion but hopefully someone more local might give a better suggestion.

Problem with longer routes is that the Coupes get spread out and lost, then you have to factor in the couple that develop the odd problem which means that those who live local have to got back out and find them or bring them back etc.
Then of course I end up using more fuel over takeing more Coupes

On Jim's behalf, have just contacted the Flight Tavern to warn them that a bunch of us will be turning up on the 16th July at around noon...they have no problem with that
They can't reserve tables outside in the garden but if the weather's dodgy, they'll stick some reserved signs on tables inside

shame tho as i am going to be on a stand at the UXBRIDGE CAR SHOW which is a great show very family friendly and a VERY GOOD mixture of cars all makes and models of all different ages

OK all. What time will we be meeting if as Hanny said we need to be at the pub round 12 to order our food? I assume the drive will be about 45mins including faffing and finding those who are lost and collecting those who have blown an engine

Tandems a nightmare to ride. So uncomfortable and blooming heavy. We did London to Brighton a week after the BHF hosted it and got half way up Ditchling Beacon then nearly collapsed. Made it all the way up Turners Hill though.
Here's a scary stat. My mate inputted our route into some software his work has.. we're climbing a total of 5320m in 5 days
Yes.. that's about 2/3rds of the way up Everest!

As we have started this does anyone want/need 2x 16v turbo wheels (16inch), I bought these on eBay for the tyres, they are in very good condition, I’ll have them in the boot if anyone is interested!

Nice to meet a few more Forum chaps/chapesses and reacquaint myself with others. Weather could not have been better (almost too hot? ) and gave me a chance to stretch the evos legs. Jim - I think (as you'd expect) the higher the speed the better the coupe does - rolling at 40 mph in 3rd gear the evo was able to gain enough ground to easily pull in in front of the coupe. The same outcome in 4th to about 120 leptons but I think the coupe was by then at least holding station and maaaybe starting to creep back... shame we didn't have a chance to really extend it!

Apologies for the no-show. This is my first visit for the forum for nearly a week due to work pressures, been working through the weekends too. Just now having time to breathe (although I am on the phone to a client as a type this) having worked 30 hours with only a 3hr break for sleep!
I am knackered! And I have several hours still to do today!
And the dog ate my homework too!
