Nobody is more gutted than us that we can't make the 11th
We were so looking forward to this event and even chatted to Rob, at the Cheshire event, about our plans for attending.
Unfortunately we had already made plans for the week that would have followed a later event and there is no way we can cancel or change those plans. Trish has no holidays left, so can't take the 11th off as well
I assure you we have explored all possible options as we would love to join you all. Unfortunately it is clear to us that we will have to miss this one

Well after searching the internet, booking with the Ibis hotel themselves seems to be the cheapest option at the moment.
A single room for one night is £35. Other agents for the hotel are trying to charge £44+ for the same room.
I'm not paying for breakfast this year, as last years was rubbish, so will go to Rob's or somewhere else for breakfast instead
If you want to book now, then this link should take you to the Ibis website:
http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/booking/hotels-list.shtmlThe Ibis is right in the centre of all the clubs/pubs and only a very short walk to Robs restaurant, so is an ideal place to stay

Re: Christmas Party Carlisle 11th December 2010 - 25/09/2010 07:53
There's also the County Hotel which backs onto the restaurant and has secure parking. Undergoing a re-fit so at least the rooms should be decent.

I'll probably get there for saturday afternoon, or if it snows like last year, then Saturday evening

Re: Christmas Party Carlisle 11th December 2010 - 17/10/2010 20:57
I need Jef_uk to be outside again and jump in what was supposed to be a locked car and direct me to the car park again
For those that don't know - my car was locked from the inside and as I was driving along the main street in traffic, someone opened the passenger door and jumped into the passenger seat.
I nearly shit myself, until I realised it was a coupe owner, as the car was supposed to have been locked lol
Definately needed his help in finding the hotel car park though.

Re: Christmas Party Carlisle 11th December 2010 - 17/10/2010 21:24
Dont think my coupe is going to be back on the road for then
My attendance of events has been down,so I have made a concentrated effort to attend the excellent crimbo do. I have booked train tickets for me and Janice for at total of £32, which is quite reasonable I thought, just in case the coupe isnt ready.
Hope the snow stays off this time.

Re: Christmas Party Carlisle 11th December 2010 - 27/11/2010 19:07
I didn't get there until about 5pm last year, due to bad weather conditions on the M6.
Just relaxed, meal at Robs, then drinking afterwards.
Sunday morning was snowing quite bad, but roads were fairly clear later on.
This year, I hope to be there before it gets dark, relax in the hotel, go to Robs, then out drinking
Rob might have something planned regarding a drive out, but I intend to just relax, eat, drink, sleep, eat, relax, go home

Fags are an every day thing that I do naturally without thinking about though, like breathing, walking, etc., so didn't think I needed to mention them
Needless to say though, they'll be plenty of them

Don't mention snow Dave I got stuck in traffic for 13 hours and moved less than 2 miles at the start of the week.
Wonder if Rob has fitted a bigger fan in the gents toilet
got to admire that skinny guy last year, I've smelt alot of shit in my time but that took the digestive.
1 ) Its crap Kelvster cant make it, he will be missed
2 ) Siti was thinking about making the journey, but not heard anything since
3 ) Steamer is still going
We must be due a bit of good luck

Re: Christmas Party Carlisle 11th December 2010 - 12/12/2010 10:29
I guess you guys are having a long lie in then lol .
Once again another lovely meal at Rob's but this time I think I would have preferred somewhere quieter to have a wee yap after rather than The Office
. Also when we got back up the road I got a text from my wee brother to tell me that I've became an uncle too
.
As always it's good to meet up and hear what everyones been up to,quite sad though that we're becoming a rare breed in our area. The other Coupé owners out there don't know what they're missing out on coming along to these meets
.

Yes, I agree that The Office is a bit too loud to be able to have a proper chat with anyone.
Was good to see you and Kim and congratulations on becoming an Uncle
Good to see both Dave and Heather
Thanks to Rob, Angelo and staff for a lovely meal again last night and for the coffee and water this morning
Thanks to Steamer for de icing my Coupe for me, except the back window, where he etched 'I
and a picture of a male genital part' in the ice for me
Thanks to Matt for letting me doze off on his arm
Thanks to sparkyman and cowboy just for being there and their usual selves

Hopefully I can get across to another meet before I deploy to Afgan in March.
It would be nice to see you all before I go.
