well the next round is nearly here and Sparco has already nailed Knockhill so who knows what he will be doing at brands!!!!

what sort of time are people rolling up for this? Can't see any timetable on the link. Might bring the family if not to early in the day.

I'm going to get there early ish so aim for mid day if you like!!

Track usually opens at 9.00am and cars are on track pretty much about that time for warm up. Quali and the super battle are in the afternoon though. By all accounts it is already going to be very busy.

Is this still happening and how much does it cost?

I bought tickets yesterday, £15 in advance and £20 on the gate.

Will be getting there early as ive got a stand pass, about 8.30. Not going in the coupe though, taking the misses golf.

Will sparco have much racing to do after 2:30pm? The England game annoyingly is now on at 3pm Sunday, and I don't want to watch it at Brands.

Yes qualifying 14:30 and final 16:50. These are where i wind the old beast right up and don't hold back. You wouldn't want to miss that. Much more exciteing than England getting beaten off the Germans! LOL!!!

They are showing the game at the circuit on all TV screens so you guys don't miss it. I'm sure i'll be watching in between sessions.

Haha I'm still a bit hammered as I've only had around 72mins of sleep so my mrs is driving me there in the 206 GTI so I will see every one in the pits at sparco's car!

Is she dead, not out for final practice or qualifying??

Wish I'd gone to this rather than watch England lose (although if the above is correct and sparco didn't run then maybe not).

We came, we saw, we cried. Didn't get there till after 1pm so v v disappointed to see it sat in the pits. but probably not as much as you. Better luck with it next time Sparco and we'll try to see it again. It looked good and got some nice pics at least.

After England result the only consolation of the day was the sheer amount of eye candy at modified live . Made me feel very old.

Sorry to hear about the gearbox sparco, from our chat the car was flying as well....

That'll teach me to rock up at 12:00 - never got to see it flying round.

gearbox broke in the first session. By all accounts the car was flying as well.

What's the damage then sparco? Going to make the next round?

Hey guys picked the car up again last night repaired, again!!!

Stripped 4th gear mainly and there was some other little bits of damage. Removed both shafts and replaced them. Had to buy another Alfa V6 gearbox for it's internals. I think i should just buy all the V6 6 speeds i can find at this rate, i think it's going to happen regularly. At least the casing and the diff are fine.

Car is ready now bar my new fire extinguisher which i have to fit. Also have to change the exhaust to a side exit to accomodate the rear diffuser but i might need to wait until after Cadwell for that when i have some more funds.

Just a point to not e on Brands, i went quicker than i did in 2009, more than 1 second in warm up than i did in the final and my time in the "warm up was still quicker than the Astra which won the FWD class this year in the final. My warm up time would have had me top ten in the Super Battle. Bugger!!!!!

Feel a big bit disappointed with the way Brands Hatch treated us by not letting me go and retrieve my trailer until nearly 6pm at night from before 11am in the morning. I was not a happy camper.

So there we go, roll on Cadwell!!

why wouldnt brands let you get to the trailer then?

They wouldn't let me take my van over the track or out the in tunnel as the out tunnel is too low. Ended up going out the out tunnel eventually, which is my point exactly. Jobsworths!!!!!!!

The Astra is quick and Bo Neilson is a very good driver so it will be close i think at Cadwell. I haven't been round there in anything other than a Superkart and i doubt if the coupe will handle quite as well as that or be as quick.

I'm sure you'll make up for it with extra bravery.

Sparco got some pictures for you hardly pro I know but better than nothing. Car looked very very quick in the warm up, was great to see.

Daniel - I know but it shows just how good an old Fiat with old technology can go when manipulated in the right fashion against lots of cars with better chassis technolgy etc.

Yes it was very wet just about all day but the car ran great and surprised a few people with how much grip it's got even in the wet.
