How many Scottish members do we have? - 07/05/2006 14:34

Just wandered how many members of the club or forum are actually based in Scotland?

Also, anyone got an idea of how many 16v, 16vt, 20v and 20vt there actually are north of the border?

Re: How many Scottish members do we have? - 09/05/2006 04:41

Member from Dundee.

I often see 2 different yellow coupés, 1 dark red, 1 red and sometimes another steel grey - so thats 6 in and around Dundee, counting me. I don't know if any apart from me are members though?

Re: How many Scottish members do we have? - 09/05/2006 13:24

I note it's mainly Glaswegians that have difficulty coughing up

So I guess there is one way to find out, would there be enough interest to hold a Scottish FCCUK/Forum or some such event? Maybe July/August/September time? I know we started down this road one the old forum, just before the motormania place closed down, would be happy to look again if there was enough interest.

Stirling? Perth? Somewhere central?

Re: How many Scottish members do we have? - 09/05/2006 21:42

How about the Falkirk wheel. The quite often have a cruise there i believe which suggests that it would be suitable for a load of cars to park up. Never been myself though. Does anyone know anything about it?
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: How many Scottish members do we have? - 09/05/2006 22:15

There is a load's of parking there Matt, and if they have a cruise meet there I guess they are open to this kind of thing.

So, I guess we go to votes, Stirling Castle or the Wheel?

And as pencil in date, how does first weekend in August sound?

Re: How many Scottish members do we have? - 09/05/2006 23:09

I'd be up for it. Falkirk Wheel meet is a good idea!! Plenty of room!

Che ur good at organising. Set an exact date (preferably a sunday) and post a new thread regarding it!!!

Why don't you all just travel as far as the southerners do and come to the actual annual FCCUK event

A good idea in theory, Bobbs. The only problem with that is that it would mean venturing into Englandshire

Regularly see a couple of other coupes around Perth but not on here.

I'll ping an email to both the Castle and Wheel on Monday and see what they have available. I'm also very conscious of cross over with any official FCCUK event, so want to check in with Bobbs before we firm up

Re: Possible venue for Scottish bash? - 29/05/2006 12:30

Barrie has got back to me and a sunday afternoon would be best as he can do us 2x20 lap sessions for £15 a head from 6-10. So say around 4pm on a sunday afternoon which would suit the long lie brigade.

I'm not sure how to do a poll but a show of numbers would be good and at the end of the day it's only an option.

Re: Possible venue for Scottish bash? - 21/06/2006 18:24

Right barrie has just replied:
Marco

The 6th of August is free so we can definately sort something out for you, do you have a time that you are meeting up? I would prefer to avoid our busier time of 2 - 4pm if possible? This should also mean we can sort out a deal for you all?

So either late morning or late afternoon?

We can offer a buffet, from simple sandwiche platters to more expensive buffets as per attached sheet.

Not quite sure what you mean by start outside? Are you planning to get all the cars lined up / outside meet etc? Shouldnt be a problem with this at any time?

Do you have a rough idea of numbers?

If you can let me know your preferences for the above then I will discuss with Scott and see what we can do. Feel free to call if its easier.

Cheers

Barrie

I reckon about 3pm ish outside for a bit of a line up etc then 4pm get the helmets on and have a laugh. As for the food well once we get numbers then he can do us an all in price. Still cheap for the karting though.

Re: Possible venue for Scottish bash? - 21/06/2006 20:12

Okay we'll take it that the date is set. There are a maximum of 8 karts at any one time so if we can get 8 bodies minimum then i reckon it's a goer.

Re: How many Scottish members do we have? - 23/06/2006 14:37

Alrighty there!!

I am a very proud owner of a Porto 20VT, Just starting out on the road to modifieng heaven... Staying in Edinburgh at the mo.

Was looking through old threads about a meet. Did it eventually happen then??

Have an idea for a meet..

On the 1st July at Knockhill they are hosting the British D1 (drifting ) series.

Now i know coops are scupperd here with their FWD setup, but you wouldnt find a more spectacular event for a meet.

Not quite sure what the circuit will be. Rekon they must start about half way round, last hairpin then veere off the home straight onto the car park and set up cones up there for the last few bends.

Drifting is awesome and such a spectator happy sport.

I,m definitely gonna be there. Infact i might even take it easy on the Sat nite before.

Admission is between 3 - 10 PM

Any thoughts???

After a little cajoling Barrie from x-treme has offered us 2x25 lap sessions for £20 per person which is 25% free on his original offer.

C'mon lads either we want to do this or not. If the date doesn't suit then don't be afraid to suggest an alternative.
