As many of you North Wales bunch know, I have managed to wangle a few entry forms for Prestatyn's annual classic car show For those that don't know what it's about, it's probably Prestatyn's biggest Summer event, A couple of hundred or so varied cars are on show, ranging from pre-war to Supercars and everything in-between.
More on last year's event here
Where does the coupe fit in? well any "unusual" or "interesting" car is allowed to enter the show, and as the coupe is both, We are permitted to enter Your coupe will be on show to the general public (hundreds if not thousands will see your pride and joy) and it promises to be a great day out (hope the weathers clement then )


From the form:

"Prestatyn classic car show - sponsored by prestatyn town council. 29th May 2006, the town square, prestatyn (bank holiday monday) Entrants will have the choice of going straight to the static display in prestatyn or taking part in a 20 mile (approx) vintage/classic run to the event. classes 1,2,3,4 and 5 must be pre 1975, however interesting vehicles of all ages are welcome. Further details in the final instructions.

THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR PARTICIPATING IN THIS EVENT. THERE WILL ALSO BE A COMPLEMENTARY LUNCH FOR TWO FOR EACH CAR ENTERED IN THE SHOW, WHO'S ENTRY IS RECEIVED BEFORE 30th APRIL 2006"

I *think* we are to turn up at about 10 ish but I'll confirm that. The security guard at my workplace helps organise the event so I have a great source.

I know the following expressed an interest in the event:

with me that'd make 5. I think at a push we could have a couple more. Could you all give me your addresses you'd like your application for the show to be sent to ASAP!

P.S just been told the complimentary food includes pudding

I will definately have a form and "Cowboy Karl" will have one also as he wants to bring his scotts green 20VT aswell.
You can send me both forms and I'll take his round to his house to fill in.

Beleive it starts in June Marcus if not you can get a TV screen and Telly receiver for cheap on fleabay, and all the prestatyn lady chavs will be swooning over you as you "pimp your ride"

Don't put yourself in any of the classes. Just leave that blank. And you can send the form direct to the address on the form

Sorry Doylie I'll get one out to you this week I promise You've got until the end of this month to send it out anyway.

If my coupe is broken because of what I think it is, it won't be back on the road for the show However I will still be there etc. And let's face it we have enough "sprinters" attending anyway

But before you all go home you all have to drive to mine and look at my poorly coupe with it's new bumper to make me feel better

The surprise picture of your Will was an added bonus, started my day with a smile. I've put Willy in a frame on my workstation. Though the missus is back home tonight so he'll probably go in the bin then

Also your posture will be terrible with that setup, you should get a proper desk, to be able tomove your legs around and the keyboard looks too low and there is some paper on your rad, thats a fire hazard.

Ahem,

Glad you liked the pic C2D! It's become a bit of a trademark now to send a picture of willy chin with whatever I'm sending out.
On that particular picture, I had been looking for william for about three hours and was getting worried. I did a quick check down the (tiny) space between my bed and the wall, and there was a happy looking chin, securely wedged between the two

The little b*gger has found a way under the floorboards and I can hear him eating wood/electrical cables etc directly underfoot

He's back now! (where's the "phew" smilie when you need one) I managed to bait him out with a raisin then blocked off his escape route. I gave him a good b*llocking afterwards adn I think he knew he was a bad chin.

That would be great Bobbs, I'm away on hols though until the 24th May and that just leaves me enough time to polish the coop so I'll not be able to get it.

Pinin has a bike though, perhaps he could nip round for it.

Oh - forgot to say, the organiser wants us all to convoy on the 20 mile drive around the classic car route, before parking up for the day! I think we need to all meet up for half nine at a pub in denbigh, Details to follow.

You've got too much going on inside your head my boy.
Just been and done a scouting trip over Kettering, only took a couple of mins to get there, not back for leisurly pace.
You missed some nice cars at Llandudno today, our little group, Taffy, TaffySnr, Coupedave and CoupedaveJnr(not 2 until next thursday!!) did the rounds.
Nearly had a Kebab in honour of Matt but thought "That might slow me down later on my rounds" so didn't, then went up the Great Orme and Taffy took some pics, good day out!!

I may be able to help with that. Any chance of leaving them with Paul @ motormech in the next 3 weeks before the 17th as ill be done there then or th 18th to pick my coop back up

I may be game for this as do the day and then the social night out round liverpool for a bit. give me a chance to show off my nicely dinged coop though may get the door on in time but doubt it lol!

Guys, how was the show? I was walking in Snowdonia and had planned to pop in during the afternoon, but ran out of time

Hope no one was involved in the accident which closed the A55 at about 7pm

Totally amazing experience on the M56 - McLaren Merc SLR flew past doing about 150

You could see him coming from miles back - really cold, blazing white headlights - everyone just pulled over instantly

Thought about trying to give chase for, ooh, about a millisecond before deciding I'd just embarrass myself

Was it at the show? Looked totally awesome and would surely have stole the show

Think you can only do the convoy if you put down the catergory of your car and we couldn't so can't do the convoy.
Don't mind to be honest as it means I can get there a bit later, between 9 and 10 it says so my nan doesn't have to come babysit too early.
Cowboy is going to do a vid of us all driving isn't he so we could all meet up for that.

Not yet I didnt get a chance before the car had to go down to icebergs. Hopefully i can pick the car up wednesday but it may be thursday depending on parts and then i have thursday afternoon to get it fitted which could be fun with teh electrics ive read about

I'm not taking the yellow peril now, scuffed the back bumper on Saturday (please don't ask), so she's definitely not looking to be shown off!

I dont have a lilca car so im afraid not
And besides i may go in the C2 or Xantia, modern classic is the 2.1td you know very rare as well

Mine still has a scrape down pass side and on rear wing and front wing but should get my door off i hope over the weeken and tidy her up a fair bit and maybe do the cam cover and engine bay grubbiness. though also have a hole in the rear bumper as well....

Nah, she was also complaining about the various different perfume residues and lip gloss smears left on her seats too... didn't mention man musk at all, so it was definitely about your denial of her lilac-ness..........

Think we were thinking of leaving Bangor at 9ish, is that too late?
My problem is I've got to go get my grandparents to babysit Adam and don't want to get them too early as they aren't getting any younger!! I'm picking them up at 8.15, will be back at my house for roughly 8.30, sort things out, leave mine at 8.45ish so might be able to leave bangor at 8.50.
Other thing I could do is leave a little bit after cowboy and madcarman and catch them up.
We'll sort it all out.
I love it when a plan comes together!!!!

I got back from hols last night and amongst the pile of bill waiting for me was my acceptance for the "Prestatyn Classic Car show" #121 so dinner at 1.00 to 1.30

It says "as you have not entered in the classic car run please proceed straight to the show. On the back of the letter it states "please arrive between 9:00 and 10:00. sooooo as above - what's the plan? Personally I think you should gret your lazy asses out of bed and we should do the run too can we do that

And Mistress you wanna watch this lot. Bumming a ride is ok but you need to know you can trust the guy
I'm an old married man and my missus will be with me so you can trust me so if you still need a ride i'm sure you could sit on my knee

I wont be on here mutch as i've got loads of pics to upload and edit and a car to polish so post our instructions, meeting times places etc and I'll keep an eye on this thread

Just finished polishing mine this evening.
Gave the poor old thing a full t-cut yesterday, gave it the kwik-clay treatment today followed by a nice coat of zymol.
Nothing like mixing your products.
Gonna get some meguiars spray wax tomorrow to put on at the show maybe.
Just got a few little bits to finish off now.
Yours is looking nice and shiny as usual Chris.

Apparently part of the show consists of a run along the prom after we've parked up our cars.
They have different distances, 100m for the sprinters, 400m for those more daring and a full marathon for those who don't want to see their cars on display!!

If you look through this post I've asked about 3 times if we are doing the classic car show run, it's a 20 mile drive in convoy with the other cars around the surrounding area. All we would have had to do is turn up at a pub in denbeigh for 9am and we could have done the run and then parked up for the show.

Enforcer - I don't see why you can't join us in the show, Marcus did drop out after all. However I can make no promises - on his form he will have stated his reg plate and car colour, and they may check this out when we arrive. tee hee. 8th December 1955 that's me I'll get there for 9 ish but not too bothered about the maccies brekkie.

Tried that stupid air con re gas today. What a PITA It was pretty awkward to use and the freakin stuff was leaking out from the 'quick connector' Anway followed the instructions, left the air con running for 20 mins and............... maybe 1 degree colder, but not sure if that was my imagination

Got quite warm driving back from Cheshire oaks this aft so Just been and bought the bigger gas canister with the pressure gauge on 40 quid better frigin' work. Will try it tonight or maybe at the show tomorrow.

Right I've just been out adding a few blue neons and max power stickers to my zimmer frame and i'm all ready to go now

As for the air con it is aptly named........ it's a con New canister has a pressure gauge so that you can check the pressure any time.
It goes to the yellow section which = "don't add refrigerant - seek professional help. Soooo as Charlotte would say ..................................... I need professional help

There were some tasty cars there(not mine) and i do love a frog eyed sprite and some chargers as well as an srt/10 dodge ram that was late and the local hells angels club as well, and some good looking R32 Skyline and a supra and cobras a good day out and a nice little trip, old faithfull did well and kept my bonnet up for me as always and kept me and nia dry as well when it rained
C2D drop me a PM and ill send you the stickers, Thanks for the money chinchilla man and dave your coop is looing sweet matey Dont do lips but cant wait to get my bumpers sorted out, skirts on and the alloys looking a bit better than inground brake dust

Yes - nice to meet you all, too. I was intending to cruise into prestatyn later, but the traffic was awful, so I swung round and went for my jog instead!

Who was saying they were following me yesterday? This is nagging at me - I just realised I was out in the Coupe, but where did you say??

Top day out all in all, I really enjoyed my bank holiday monday which would otherwise be spent with willy chin watching eastender repeats
Will Your coupe needs a bit of TLC cosmetically but In the engine department wow baby the sound of that exhaust drowned out Karls supersprint effort! Thanks Karl for letting me drive your fine coop, I hope I didn't scare you too much quote of the day, I'm just approaching redline in third gear in a coupe that isn't mine, Karl says "lets get there in one piece fella" well it was KP right up my chuff I had no choice
Great showing from the coupe's. P.S willy chin says you are a bunch of c*nts coming into his room and then me chasing him about.

Pinin in my passenger seat, first with leg hanging out the window, then body, then stuck his head out as I accelerated, lost his cap which then became a flat cap thanks to traffic! Then the fun of watching him play frogger trying to get it back.

Well. I finaly got home at 10 past 7
This was the traffic when I joined the M56 and it didn't get any better

Great day out though and it was nice meeting you all and seeing the coops. and meeting the forums newest member Willy Chin too

Charlotte Church didn't turn up but Nia did (oops sorry Will , we'll all look after her while you're on hols ) Didn't get any pics though. Didn't get any of Wills famous umbrella bonnet stay either, but I'm sure someone will have done

Anyway, heres some pics:

It's on the 12th August.
Should be a lot of Italian exotica there too plus lots of other stuff to do aswell.
Think there are some other forum members going to go there too.
I was going to phone and arrange a club stand but there wasn't much interest but still would like to.
