Time to get this thread started.

This is the arrangements as they stand, after being discussed at the meet.

Weekend after easter, meet at sportsman. After meal head down to Whoop Hall, where we are going to try and book the whole hotel which will lead to a discount. Drinking will commence before dinner, during and after. Last man standing wins.

As my car should now be on the road for this meet i've just tried to book Whoop Hall and they are fully booked for that weekend!

They recommended the Pheasant Inn at Casterton.
Does anybody have any feedback on this place and is it nearby?

ok sportsman booked at 1pm 5th apr so i would say leveing the whoop at about 12,

is there still room for the hotel, is this event still on, anyone from the north east going, were is it located the event

right ive read through all 14 frigging pages for this and if people never posted non topic related posts it might have being easier to understand, i would like to go to this event and stay over,

1 is there any rooms left,
2 which is the first night people are staying
3 how many nights are people staying

3. People are staying for different lengths of time so again not really an answer

friday some arive at the whoop and are staying till monday but the main day is saturday were we all meet at the woop a drive up to the sportsman arive about one,and have din dins,then back to the woop and get ready for dinner.sunday i would love to go to lake windermere but see what the others are doing first

From what I can gather Whoop Hall is full but it might be worth phoning to confirm.

I have included several alternatives in the first post now.

One suggestion that was made which has not been included here is that people should swap mobile phone numbers to avoid getting lost if the convoy gets split up which seems sensible.

Oh, and please try to keep the thread tidy this time, it takes ages to edit down!

If any females want to go to this, my room was the last one left in Whoop for that weekend, with twin beds.

Well I'm definitely stopping over on the saturday, but haven't looked into where yet; probably find a decent B&B relatively close to the whoop. If anyone finds anywhere perhaps they could post up details and then we can get a few of us booked in there and split cost of taxi etc.

the whoop is out by itself, probably less than a mile ouside the village, there are quite a few B&B's in the village, can't remember the name of the one i stayed in last year but it was on the opposite end of the village.
I found that were i stayed parking wasn't the best but on the whoop end of town the parking wasn't too bad.
Maybe PM Wishy as he stayed in one closer to the whoop last year

ive just booked there as not bothered really as dont think we will be spending much time in the hotel and hopefully wont be coming to the room anytime early as we will all be having a good drink, im staying for the saturday night only

if there is room i would try and leave your car at whoop hall as parking by the orange tree isn't great, i don't mind coming to pick you up in the morning to come for your car although it's quite a nice walk

Matt - I'm not sure if the NE convoy was planning on going to Whoop first to meet everyone and then driving up to the Sportsman.

If everyone is meeting at whoop first then scotch corner is a huge detour for me coming from huddersfield. I'll go straight to whoop instead.

got the last room at the orange tree, go to google maps, put in the whoop postacode, go to find buisness and put in hotel, all hotels around whoop will come up , there was few available a few weeks ago

ok, found a B&B that actually has some rooms (not for long) is there any idea on real numbers of people that are attending then? is it about 10?

I think you'll find it's at least ten that are staying overnight or longer and at least double that number for lunch at the Sportsman

At the last lakes meet there were around 25 Coupes, I would expect (hope!) there to be around the same number this time....

so is there anyone checking into there room before going to the sportsmans

Lots still to do and very little time to do it in;

At the mo my car looks like its just survived a car crash

Its been off the road for over 2yrs, the bonnets been used as a work bench and the roof as a storage shelf! The skirts have been scraped on a car trailer and its faded to 15 different shades of pink

I'll blow in the worst of the scratches but not enough time to respray the whole car in time for the meet, as i had previously hoped.

I'm only mapped to 4.5k so i'll prob hang about at the back of the convoy and keep the NAs company, if any, but i'll deffo be at the sportsman on saturday.
I think bunflash is coming with me as his is still off the road at the moment.

now you can all thank blame me if he makes an appearance...

Echoing the above really, but it was great to catch up with everyone and meet a few new faces. Sorry we had to rush off so soon, but we had a bit of an emergency to get back to.. still, it was an excellent day and hopefully we'll be able to make the long haul next time.

Lovely drive back, traffic jams on the M6 coupled with smog, the latter being mainly from my car.
went straight to the garage who did my service when i got back and told them that I'd had to stop to get some oil taken out as they had overfilled it, he was a bit hesitant but agreed there was no smoke when it went in for service.
I'm no expert so some of you may be able to help me, he things that the valve stem oil seals may have gone as when i got back the oil level was on minimum.
guess i'll put up a post in technical problems!!

Well Kim and I got back home around 5pm,we`re both knackered and suffering from sore heads and upset stomaches now but have had an excellent time .

It was nice to meet up again with the regular crew and make some new friends too. This has been my most favourite meet yet as i`ve had more of a chance to get to know some of my fellow Coopsters and i`m amazed at how easy we all get along (anybody from outside the group would probably think we all hated each other when the heard all the insults flying back and forth lol ).

While the meeting of all the Coops and the Sportsman meal were nice the best part of it all was the evening drinks and banter back at the Whoop Hall,I don`t think i`ve laughed as much in my life and my face was aching with the constant smiling. They`ll certainly be nights i`ll never forget,mainly because I can`t get rid of the smell of Steamer`s farts from my clothes lol .

Great pictures dave! I signed up for kodak thing and then copied the image locations into the browser window I was signed into it with, they worked then

does that mean that only people that are signed into kodak thingy can see them, as you can tell i'm not very pc literate!!

You might have to set your 'album' (or whatever Kodak call it) yo public or shared Dave. I know you have to do this on some other sites

I wont be using that again tho as its so fragile. The slightest knock and it chips really easy. Hammerite or smoothrite is by far the better option and will withstand the elements much better.

The whole engine bay colour coding was purely an experiment and now that its all back in there, there are a few pipes and things that i should've left black.

No it doesn't.
Just change the Quality Setting from Standard to High (see below the 'Views counter') and enlarge the video on screen. It does take a while for the high quality video to be charged completely though
