Any day really - week nights are great but next few weekends looking a little busier. Never been to a Coupe meet before so not sure what format they take :o) There's plenty of nice pubs around Didsbury or further south around Wilmslow/Mobberly area if anyone fancied a drive out?

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 10/08/2007 02:06

So far, Sundays are looking OK for everyone. With Stanford Hall in just over a week and the Lakes Meet in early October, how does a Sunday in mid September sound to people? \:\)

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 10/08/2007 02:12

i would be up for this, but with having an RR day halfway through september too might get in the way a bit. but i may pop along, especially if we get a drive on some nice roads. \:\)

Isn't it nice to have such a busy social calender full of coop related stuff? \:D

As the RR session is on the 15th, how's the 8th, 22nd or 29th for people? I'm aware that the Lakes Meet is on the 6th so some decision will need to be reached. \:\)

8th or 22nd for me please!

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 13/08/2007 17:17

i wont be in any state to drive on the 22nd or the 23rd (it's my 30th and dont plan on sobering up for a few days)

so weekends 8th/9th or 15th/16th are best for me.

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 15/08/2007 13:23

How about the 8th or 9th for everyone then?

Good stuff about the 9th, but next we've got to decide a venue!

Could possibly meet in Didsbury followed by a drive out to a pub in the Peaks or Cheshire?

Any ideas welcome :o)

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 22/08/2007 17:13

Didsbury sounds good to me... there is a big pub on the corner of wilmslow rd with a good size car park where we can meet... cant remembr the name of the pub thou...

I'm really torn now. nice drive out to a pub in the peaks sounds \:# But - this is the Renault weekend at Donnington and I have free tix for that. There's a few coopster going too so I'll have to see which i fancy at the time

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 22/08/2007 20:49

Sorry guys, away on holiday that weekend °\(

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 22/08/2007 23:56

I can come on that day, a drive through the peaks gets my vote. The A628 \:# and A57 (snake pass) are amazing roads!

This would be my first meet, I dont know how far you guys usually go?

I won't be going to the Renault weekend, so if anyone hasn't been able to get hold of tickets, then pm me and you can have mine-I have 2 of them.

This is my first Coupe meet as well so your not on your own.... Normally i do classic bike meets, RD400 sort of stuff but i doubt an 800 mile journey over 3 days is what were looking at lol

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 25/08/2007 12:35

Usually these start with a bit of "bonnets up" action \:o followed by a drive on some nice, winding roads. Ideally, this drive should take in a nice Pub that serves good food. \:\) Then it's farewells and head off home.

That's a condensed version but you get the idea. \:\)

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 30/08/2007 21:16

Following MABR's excellent suggestion we could all meet in the car park of "The Didsbury" pub at around 5pm ish on the Sunday (not forgetting the 'bonnets up' action).

Depending how far we all want to go there's a lovely drive out to the Castle Pub in Castleton in the Peak District (either via Macclesfield/Buxton or via Glossop/Snake Pass). These routes would take almost an hour each way.

Alternatively a bit closer is the Plough and Flail between Mobberley and Wilmslow. They have a big car park and I've previously seen the local MG club using the large area of grass behind the pub to show their cars. Food here is very good, but it does get busy so we'd probably need to book. Estimate about 20 mins each way from Didsbury.

snake pass to castleton gets my vote! \:#

turning right at ladybower reservoir and back into castelton from the far side?

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 31/08/2007 12:55

I'm not going to be there and dont want to put a downer on things, but if its a sunny day, you'll be lucky if there are 2 free spaces in the Didsbury's car park at 5pm on a Sunday!
Posted By: andy2

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 31/08/2007 13:36

Hmmm, good point. Might have to think of somewhere else. Don't facy meeting up in a Tesco's car park like the local SR Nova crowd though! Any ideas?

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 31/08/2007 14:20

Why 5:0 clock anyway \:\?

when I first saw that I thought BlOOdy Héll that's an early start \:o /then I realised it was 17:00 hrs
Posted By: andy2

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 31/08/2007 16:13

Could be earlier or later - whenever's good with everyone I guess. Thought 5pm might be a good time - early enough to still be light, and late enough so that if people are doing stuff on a Sunday they can still come along afterwards ;o)

So come on guy's what's happening. You'll have to get your finger out as it's this weekend!

Route sounds good to me but there are some meeting place concerns. See the three quotes below -

So who's coming, where we meeting, whats the plan \:\?

I want to decide whether to come to this or go to Donnington. \:\) quite fancy this though and it means I don't have to get up as early \:\)

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 05/09/2007 15:48

I should still be OK for this but 5pm start is no use to me. °\(

I'll go with the flow but don't know that area well so I'll leave it to the experts. \:\)

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 06/09/2007 00:16

5pm is a good time for me, plenty of time to recover from the night before.

where can we meet up, if the didsbury will be too full?

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 06/09/2007 16:24

Bump \:\)

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 06/09/2007 17:14

ill take a drive into didsbury tonight and see if i can spot a good secondary place to meet... its only 4 miles from where i live so its no problem...

we really need to decide on a time to meet before lunch time tomorrow as i wont be near a computer from then until the meet its self....

regarding where to go it makes no difference to me, i really dont mind, i suppose we can decide when we meet dependent on who is there...

Address is: The Woodstock, 139 Barlow Moor Road, Manchester, M20 2DY

Hi Paggs - how did you get on on your recce last night?
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 07/09/2007 16:45

the woodstock isnt a bad idea.... in didsbury the only other place to meet would be opposite the Slug and lettace there is a reasonable size car park there with plenty of bars around.

My sugestion would be to meet at the didsbury and if it is too full then move down the road to opposite the slug....

im not going to be at a PC now until monday so im going to hope that we are on for 5pm and if you all decided to meet some where else i can find you

By the way for anyone who needs directions - the address is The Didsbury, 852 Wilmslow Road, Didsbury, Manchester, Greater Manchester M20 2SQ.

It's on a sharpish bend in the road and has a big beer garden out the front. The entrance to the car park is just beside the beer garden.

Re: Mini Manchester & Surrounding Area Meet - Poll - 10/09/2007 03:15

Well just three coops in the end but it was a nice meet, a bit of bonnet up action and tyre kicking, (and for once I won the cleanest engine bay competition) \:D followed by a drive to a v nice pub in mobberley or somewhere \:\? And Paggs brought a mate along that could drink beer on our behalf. \:\/ If i'd brought some money I would have had dinner there. as it is we had to survive on Nobby's Nuts \:D

I thought that was you behind me Paggs on the road back into Knutsford but it was pitch black and I hadn't seen a coupe behind me in the dark before. I was like "is it, isn't it" :?I'd eventually decided it was which is why I blasted away from those roadwork lights \:\)

Anyway, nice meeting you guys. There's still an hour of the weekend left so enjoy \:\) and dont forgetto get along to This Meet in October
