If you click onto that link you can buy discounted tickets to the event which saves a couple of pound each person and will get you through the gates a bit quicker.

I have just had the numbers from AutoItalia.

There are only 3 places for going round the Mercedes-Benz World track and 3 for the Test Hill run.

The track time is quite processional behind a safety car so not that exciting anyway.

Can Begbie, Proccy, Technics and Cyborg7 please agree among themselves who is to be first reserve on the list.

There are still 3 places available for the test hill run: the first 3 club members to post up their names will get them.

Well i've never been to Brooklands before so never done the track, but i'd rather stand aside and let someone have a go instead, i'm no track hero anyway

For anyone thinking you can go flat out on the track, you can't.

You will be in a procession behind a lead car all the way around and although you can floor it a couple of times if you drop back, that's about it I'm afraid

A few years ago I had a Punto GT and went to Brooklands. This was in the days before Mercedes Benz World. There was a test track set up on the old runway with cones which I drove on. There were no speed limits and I was able to get up to a good speed on the straight. The stars of the track were a 400hp Alfa Guilia GTA driven by Roberto Gordalinni and a rough looking 80s Maserati Biturbo.

There was also an Autotest in a field where the Punto did surprisingly well.

just near the M25 J 28. Has a reasonable forecourt

Brooklands would be just over an hour so could meet here

Anyone up for a convoy coming from east along M25 Kent / Essex / SE London? A quick pitstop at the M25 services Clacket Lane might be a good place to converge. Last year we managed to get about 5 start from here.

To hit the 8.30am gates opening at Brooklands we'd need to aim to be leaving Clackets by 8.00am. (www.viamichelin.co.uk reckons 31mins to do the 46km). Leaving any later risks getting consigned to the mercedes world parking compound.

If anyone's interested then suggest: Clacket Lane Services by 8am M25 motorway (between Junctions 5 & 6 Westbound /southern side). Postcode: TN16 2ER. Meeting at the fuel station parking area as opposed to the service area car park. Then onto Brooklands M25 to jnct 10; A3; A245 KT13 0QN
(fast track entry for ticket holders via the Campbell Entrance off Brooklands Road (B374) by the JTI Members Hill office block).

I havent been since the very first AI day, will we not be assigned a designated area if they know 40+ cars are expected?
Not that I plan on arriving any later than 9.30 via Ace Cafe, but I hope I dont get relegated to the Mercedes world compound

We are assigned the same area as in the past 2 years where 50+ cars attended.

Even so it is a good idea to arrive before 9:30 - 10am just to avoid the queues.

And remember not to bring a barbecue!

Met office forecast is 10 degrees and cloudy, not bad. Serviced the Coupe today, with some Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 10W-50 Ester Synthetic Engine Oil, I had a change from the Fiat oil filter for a Fram one as I didn't fancy a 10 mile drive to the local dealer.

Just got to clean it now and reset the airbag light.

Well due to work commitments I'm going to have to pull out again One day I'll get there!

Sorry barnacle if you were following me out of brooklands my Sat nav missed a turn towards chertsey & the m25 when I turned back at the island you were gone.

Nah, mine was having hysterics and kept changing its mind. It wasn't keen that we got out of that traffic jam and turned back to Brooklands.

Instead, we did a grand tour of Surrey and Middlesex and found the M25 at J13 instead, which was something of a surprise to all concerned!

I had a great day, the first time I'm been to Brooklands with fccuk, been with others clubs/cars over the years.

I think I had the only Coupe with two child seats in! It was the first year I've done the test hill, I really enjoyed it. I did my first run my three year old daughter in the back and the second solo.

I did two runs and think the first was better, a little bit of wheel spin to avoid bogging down. Glad I've done the clutch and belts in the last year.

Thanks to all those from the club involved in the planning and to Joe for the ebv+cam sensor recently.

Joe's pick-up was entertaining with the lights+siren.

Cracking day despite the weather. I can't tell you how much I just loved the track run - such good fun. Thanks for letting me have the slot. It was the 1st run with the new LL exhaust I just had fitted after the supersprint rusted through. Might not be able to compete with the Lambos noise but still a good opportunity to rev the nuts off it. I had the wife in the passenger seat and my son and his friend in the back and wish I'd had an incar camera as it was hilarious when at 90 down the straight she shouted brake for the corner hanging on for dear life. Love it.
Great to talk to those I did. Sorry not to have got round to others. Tales of Spa sounded so good. I'm determined to try and make it next year for the first time.

The layout in the coupe area this year didn't lend itself to much mingling, so sorry anyone I didn't get round to chatting with.

One thought I had on the hillclimb, would be for the organisers to cut the dross out of it. It's a spectator event after all, and the number of less than 5 year old Alfas trundling up it like a normal road lost the appeal of watching it for me. Much prefer to watch those giving it a go in something loud, or in a fiat 500 with the leather picnic baskets wondering if they'll make it with a loud cheer if they do!!

Another great day at brooklands, saw some lovely coupes, especially an inky black one very nice wish i had driven down in my porto now!

Great day out my first coupe event lots of fun on the way up in the convoy with dan and the boys only downfall was my throttle cable snapped on the way home. The RAC got me going again though thank god only problem is finding a new cable now.

It WAS cold, and I took pity on my son about 3 o'clock - he also wanted to watch the Cup Final, and he wishes he didn't!

The Lambos were just stunning - the Oakley special and the matt black were amazing. Nearly bought a lottery ticket on the way home, but then I would just have spent the jackpot on a few more Coupes

Sorry didnt get to catch up with some of you, time seemed to go quick, plus spent some of my time in the boring brief for the track time and then queuing up for it, but I did enjoy it...

i dont know if it was just me but i found the marshalls really helpfull and polite

when i first got there i had travellled through some wet stuff and brought some water to rinse the coupe down and one of the marshalls came over and said if i need anymore water they have prepared a supply for people to use.....rather thoughtfull

Aside from the weather, I really enjoyed the day, despite getting up at 3.15am!

Only my second Coupe meet, but nice to meet a few new faces as well as have a chat to those I met at the AGM - you were all sober this time ( I think! )

Naf - thanks for the suspension hints chap - and your carbon workings has inspired me to get the airbrush out and start practicing the technique (so I can cover the B pillars and the mirror backing) as for the center console and bits I reckon I'll copy your idea and wrap it, (looked and felt nice)

Think I will be sticking in the Gtec1 this weekend, seeing as others have been running without any extras incl.

No three I think ROO, Edz, AndyEssex & mine this year. That's 3 this year Dan. See, they are getting rarer

You're right it was an Autech Stelvio Zagato. It's powered by a Nissan V6 and was sold in Japan in the late 80s. Absolutely hideous thing in my opinion, particularly the wing mirrors that flare out from the side of the bonnet. Not one of Zagato's finest moments, but each to their own I guess!

I just found a page on it.
It seems like it sold for 18 Million Yen at a time when a Skyline GTR was 5 million.
320 BHP DOHC turbo 6 with an automatic gearbox.
And that almost all of the better Stelvio design features later appeared on the Aston Martin V8 Zagato.
