My not at all disappointing rolling road results - 20/04/2010 13:24

Just been down to see Leighton at the dyno and at around 1.35 bar my car made 302bhp and 289lb/ft of torque and I'm very pleased now!! laugh

good result!! i'm there thursday, can't wait (for the aa lift back rolleyes )

not sure what mine will make, and not really all that bothered, but since it made 278bhp i've added fmic and hybrid turbo, so maybe around 300bhp? dunno. the thing i noticed most was how smooth and powerful in all gears the car felt afer mapping - a complete revelation cool

Here is the graph which shows the runs from yesterday overlayed with the original run back in October.

The increase in power is due to opening up the exhaust which was restricting the turbo. Suffice to say James's car was not running rich as shown on the other dyno but was in fact exactly as I had set it... but then I knew that anyway wink Oh and it's also hitting the 6800rpm limiter showing the dyno was calibrated correctly smile

Just goes to show that James wasn't dreaming that his latest upgrades had been beneficial and that the car was indeed faster on the road.

Nice work Flea! You managed to smooth out the torque curve between 3500-5000 rpm, so it should be really nice to drive now. 3500-5000 rpm it's the place where the five cyl turbo engine goes banana laugh. I just love to put in third gear and hit it at 3000 rpm driving and feeeeeel the power of FIAT turbo.

all valves bent so new head needed - luckily(?) motormech had just finished building one for such eventualities, so was back on the road in less than a week... cool

regrettably, my wallet never recovered rolleyes

Well I'm sure it will be very worth it...after you recover! I know the feeling mate. I was counting what I had spent and I realised along the way for stupid reasons I've lost around £1000 laugh
