Blimey I've only watched half of that and I'm out of breath laugh

Unhelmeted as it was "informal"?

You are only obliged to wear a helmet when it’s a track day, not a tourist drive Simon

Jamie, that was brilliant, thank you.

Congratulations on your hard work and set up.

@GrahamL - "The car's never seen any driving like this before.."

What do you reckon? laugh

I didn't realise there was someone in the rear until very near the end when this disembodied voice piped up, crikey it performed well with three in! Was that your lad Jamie?

Loved the dancing feet (until the g force sabotaged the gopro laugh )

Some driving.

Re: Nurburgring with Misha - 06/10/2023 14:40

Hi Simon,
Yes it was my lad in the back

We'll go back and do it again next year.

But I'll have new injectors fitted and some Carbo tech pads, so he'll probably scare us a bit more

Cheers Jamie

Haha, well all I can say is that the car was driven 100% harder in the first 5 mins of Jamie's test drive than it was during my entire ownership, certainly as far as braking and cornering. laugh

To be fair I was never interested in track days etc., accelerating fast in a straight line was always good enough for me. Track days seemed to me to be no more than unnecessary stress on the car and driver and not what I'd call fun... I preferred to stick on some music and take a fast country drive, with the drive being more an enhancement to the music than anything else.

The gearbox and clutch on my Punto are now buggered (loud knocking in 4th and hard to get into 1st) so it seems I did indeed get rid of the wrong Fiat! smile

Coupés sometimes find their way back into former owners' hands chinny

In such a case you could revisit old delights, a bit quicker as well as stopping sooner to avoid the rain wink

Haha, no I definitely wouldn't go back to another coupe now. The cash is already long gone anyway, basically swapped it for a pro microscope setup to get into chip hacking. laugh

This just popped up on my Facebook feed. What a treat! Amazed how well your brakes held up Jamie. Mine were like spongy tissue paper! Lovely car and a great watch.

Morning Jamie

Just watched it again.

Fantastic advert for the cars !

Misha seems to be a smashing bloke. Not only a quick driver, but friendly and humorous.

When you looked anxious, were you worried about your car or your life ???

Is that your Aston Jamie ?

If so, very nice !

If not, youve got a better looking twin !

Re: Nurburgring with Misha - 12/11/2023 07:59

Hi Paul,
The anxiousness was how close he gets to other cars and me thinking can I afford to repair the other car!!!!

But yes misha is a race driver with something close to 8000 laps around the ring, so he knows it very well

Cheers Jamie

Re: Nurburgring with Misha - 06/12/2023 15:59

Yeh, at the time my son was driving, so at the start of the lap it was dry, but within 2 minutes it rained heavily.

Anyway we saw Misha go by us, and we'd had a slippy moment or two and backed off.

Then we saw the aftermath with the Mazda, and thought it's a good job we slowed down!!!

Fantastic! -thank you for sharing.

A three passenger lap - pushing on some big budget fast cars - and you did a great job of not showing any fear and I could see you looking in trying to pick up some on the job hints at faster lap times!!

Just brilliant- a perfect start to the week!

Good man!

We’re planning on going back to him this year, but with a fleamap and some carbo tech brake pads
