I have just booked this event with clubmsv.com. It's still for £99. I guess, I'll see you there Tom.

I've never been to a track day before and would like to try it in my coupe. I have a small oil leak, is this a problem? Had it for years, its minor.

thanks

Good question, I would get it investigated before the track day, thou, if it's been there for years...

One thing I would strongly advise you is to uprate your brakes - pads to some track focused and brake fluid to a high boiling point one like ATE Super Blue/Motul RBF660.

will pop it up on the ramp. The brake fluid has recently been changed. Might stick some fast road pads in.

If not we have an FTO with semi slicks on it we can bring if a trailer can be borrowed.

Should be a fairly dry but cold day. How many of us are coming down? I am going to get there first thing in the morning so I can reserve a garage.

Dammit my yellow stuff pads didn't arrive so I am screwed tomorrow. I guess that I'll be testing omp r&s pads - not looking forward to this... frown

The brakes were shite, didn't inspire any confidence at all. Difference between OMP R&S and Race is night a and day. R&S fade so quickly, give really spongy pedal feel and brake friction is week and inconsistent. For that reason I didn't stay long and had my last session finished just before lunch break. No joy in doing 3 - 4 laps and coming back into pits to late brakes cool down frown

On the positive side I met some really nice people:
1. tom_snelling in his 16VT - very quick and good handling car.
2. Joe's mates' in Civic Type-R
3. Now this is big guys - do you remember last Evo magazine with our Coupe in it..? There was an article about elderly lady and her white Renault Megane R26R? Well, her husband approached me in the pits to make some nice comments about my car - really cool fella who was chasing me last time in Porsche Cayman R.

Anyway - lovely track and I will be coming back there next year.

I just wish it wasnt so greasy, although it did make it good fun!
