I'll be at the evening open pit lane event on 30 August with Easytrack - sign on from 3.30pm, limited to 35 cars.

The Caterham looks lovely though You'll have great fun chucking that round the Indy circuit

Love the Caterham Neal. Doesn't make sense for me to travel from Brizzle for an evening only session either, so I'm out.

I'm looking to book an evening track session at Brands in August. I just need to get new alignment bolts and a full geo-setup done on my MX-5 before it's ready,

How much is it? The ones I'd been looking at were £119/129 or so.

Why not come to the llandow trackday on the saturday?

Is it static 98 there? I doubt I'd make that either. I was given a polite warning at Oulton at the start of the day "right on the limit" @ 102

They didn't confirm the actual limit on the day, but checking back on MSVs website ... it looks like the limit may have been 105.

Which is more worrying for me ... if I'm only just squeaking past 105 :O

Is the limit different from the 7 Club trackday of last week then Kenno? If not, you should get under in yours, right?

That's louder than us if that's true and it was 105. If so, you've got no chance at many tracks now. That's why we're trying to sort our airbox out. Otherwise Donington, Combe etc are out. Even some of the Mallory days are now lower than 105.

Going slightly back on topic, for many cars the static tests are ok but the drive-bys are the problem. Ours is both

I've not had any problems with drive-by's at Oulton or Donington ... but it is true that drive-by's are more of a problem. A lot of it depends on which way the induction noise travels.

It seems to be. BC says:

"Noise Limit - 102db static, 92db drive by."

I guess they have to quieten down the later it gets.

The roller barrels on the R300k are loud, and I have a cut out in the bonnet as well.

Same problem as I have ... particularly the bonnet cut out

wish my coupe was working im only down the road from brands.

I had new tyres fitted Friday, although the geometry setup didn't quite go to plan.

I'd taken new alignment bolts along to replace my corroded ones, so they could do the geo properly, only they were so badly corroded they couldn't get them out even with heat. The car wasn't safe to drive at the point they'd got to, so I had to leave it there (it was 1.5 hours away by car) and spend 3 hours and £23 on public transport getting home. It brought back Coupe ownership days, you know where you turn up for a simple job and it turns out something else more major needs doing! I had to order 2 front lower suspension arms, which should be delivered straight to the garage today, with the geo finished afterwards so I can collect tonight!

I'm hoping my other camera mount comes so I can film via my iPhone as well as my HD camera.

How irritating! Still, at least you know it's sorted, the geometry can now be tweaked and you'll be on track - see you tomorrow!

They've confirmed it's finished, so I'm heading off to collect it now. I expect the M25 will be pants, and looks like rain so can't have the roof down

Oh and they've reported the drivers electric window no longer works?

I work 10 minutes from Brands. We've just had a downpour but the sun is back out. Hopefully it'll dry up nicely by 5pm!

Thanks Fishy Dave for the Caterham set-up, it ran and handled really well, although more practice/tuition required for the driver! I need to recalibrate where to brake and how much speed I can carry into the corners, I was far more confident in some sections of the track than others - but the car was hugely impressive, just so grippy and unfadeable (at least at the modest pace I was driving it!). Roll on the next one

Yeah, it's okay for 17 years old with tired suspension! I'll post my videos up next week where I'm sure you'll see yourself passing me a few times
